They are requesting an ASCII Fixed Field Flat file. I only see an option for CSV exports from reporting. I was going to export to a CSV but then use BBEdit to strip the commas. The problem I am running into is some fields such as name fields (also left justified) are not always the same length and two groups of number fields are right justified and also not the same length. How do I overcome these? Can I build a formula to create the filler spaces or is there a different format that I can export too? I tried requesting help from the Support Staff, but the customer care rep suggested that I request it via the Feedback form. I've attached the file format for you to review. We actually only use 16 fields, the rest I would have to add to Quickbase with the formatting. Please let me know your thoughts. ------------------------------ Mary Perkins M3TR1CS Business Solutions mary.perkins@m3tr1cs.com ------------------------------ QB export to ASCII Fixed Field Flat FileHey All, We're need to export a file from Quickbase on a weekly basis to import into a trans-edi system for billing. I'm trying to build a Clock In/Clock Out app based on current GPS location. For us, it's a government mandate... to track services at client locations. I did not get my formula working yet. However, I did use your suggestion to use the Business Rules section of the table. I either forgot or never new it was there. I just started building 6 months ago... With using the business rules working, I don't necessarily need the longer formula and am working on the rest of that now. Thanks for your help. It was a tremendous move forward for me. :) Cheers, Mary Perkins ColoradoBiz.net LLC DBA M3TR1CS Business Solutions mary.perkins@m3tr1cs.com ---------------- Cell: 720-272-1268 simple formulaHey All, I've a formula Numeric Formula field that calculates Units Remaining. [Weekly Units]-[# Units Used] This works. Now I'm trying to create a message if this field goes NEGATIVE. if (([Weekly Units]-[# Units Used])<0, ToText("TOO MANY UNITS USED, TRY AGAIN"), if (([weekly units]=[# units used]),"zero", ([weekly units]-[# units used])))) I'm receiving a Formula Syntax Error for the last line: "Expecting Text but found Number". If this is a formula NUMERIC field, why am I getting this message? Here are other variations that I've tried for that last line, but still get the same message: (ToNumber([weekly units])-ToNumber([# units used])))) (ToNumber([weekly units]-[# units used])))) Thanks in advance! I'll go and test in the system with new dummy data. I have taken away access to the child tables so no one can actually add directly to them anymore. I'm learning new things everyday. LOL Thanks for your help! ------------------------------ Mary Perkins M3TR1CS Business Solutions mary.perkins@m3tr1cs.com ------------------------------ cross table deletions questionHey All, So I just launched my first app for a non-profit organization. When we went to delete my test data from the main parent table, none of the data on subsequent child tables were deleted. My understanding is that all associated data in other tables should have been deleted as well. What did I set up incorrectly or miss in the set up process?
