I already have a field for 'days till next update is due' so I created a form rule that says if the # of days <= 61, then show the Add Annual Review button. ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Re: Create one Child Record per Year HI Mark....I did try several different ways of writing the formula using Related Parent but it keeps coming back as not compatible to be unique. The field 'Visit Year' is a formula numeric field using the Date Created field. The concatenate field is Numeric Formula. Here is my formula which does not indicate any error until I click Unique and try to save ToNumber([Related Home] & [Visit Year]) Error: This formula is incompatible with this field being marked unique. Please change the formula or uncheck the unique checkbox. I have tried this also as Text formula - same response. ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Create one Child Record per Year Each Parent record needs an annual review. I want to avoid someone creating two records for the same year. However, since I can't use a look up field (Parent Account#) in a unique field formula, I don't know what I can do to avoid this. I would like to concatenate the Parent record Account # and the child record Year to create that unique field value. I've tried searching for something similar but can't seem to find the right solutions. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Re: Set Same Date Each Year Thanks Mark....once again you came through for me. This is exactly what I needed. ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Re: Rich Text formula 'expecting text' at the end of formula Thanks Alex....removing the & at the end was the solution. Makes sense and I think I just spent too much time on it to see that. ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Rich Text formula 'expecting text' at the end of formula I have a Rich Text Formula to display values from fields in a paragraph format. I have searched and tried so many different things but I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Please note, I will add the else statement which would be for a female, but I need to get the first part fixed first. I'm not sure if the / in the field names is actually throwing the error or not. I don't want to rename them if I don't have to. For this version, the ) at the end is yellow highlighted and it tells me 'expecting text'. The fields are in green text so I feel I'm on the right track with this version. If( [Sexo / Sex]="Male", [Primer Nombre / First Name]&" is an "&[Personalidad del Nino / Child's personality]&" boy who enjoys "& [Pasatiempos / Hobbies]&". He loves"&[Animal Favorito / Favourite Animal]&" and eating "&[Comida Favorita / Favourite Food]&". His favorite subjects in school are "&[Clases favoritas en la escuela / Favorite Subjects in School]&"."& [Primer Nombre / First Name]&" would like to become a "& [Aspiracion/ambicion/meta del nino / Career aspiration and goals of child]&" in the future."& ) If I had the <p> to the beginning and end, then it highlights the period at the end of the first sentence stating there is a syntax error. Also, the field names in this version are not in green text which also tells me it doesn't like my syntax. If( [Sexo / Sex]="Male", "<p>[Primer Nombre / First Name]&" is an "&[Personalidad del Nino / Child's personality]&" boy who enjoys "&[Pasatiempos / Hobbies]&". He loves"&[Animal Favorito / Favourite Animal]&" and eating "&[Comida Favorita / Favourite Food]&". His favorite subjects in school are "&[Clases favoritas en la escuela / Favorite Subjects in School]&". "&[Primer Nombre / First Name]&" would like to become a "& [Aspiracion/ambicion/meta del nino / Career aspiration and goals of child]&" in the future."& </p>" ) Any ideas? ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Re: Set Same Date Each Year Hi Mark....I did not set up a field to specify the year of the review. I do have a summary field 'Last Annual Update'. If a new update is not completed, then this field would not change and the field 'Next Annual Update Due' would show the review is past due. I created a field on the Children table (parent) called 'First Annual Update Due' and set it as 6-30-2024 for all records. I can have this date set for 'Next Annual Update Due' if 'Last Annual Update' is blank. However, I also need the formula to not look at this field after 'Last Annual Update' is set. I can figure that out, but am unsure how to have the formula add 1 year to the date June 30 and not the 'Last Annual Update'. ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Set Same Date Each Year This may be a simple solution, but I am unable to figure out how to do it. We have created a new app that requires yearly review of records. All reviews are due by June 30 of each year. The first date for this will be 6-30-2024, but then, when a review has been completed, I need that date to change to 6-30-2025. Children is the parent table with Annual Reviews as the child table. I'm not sure if I can just do this on the parent table and or if it should be done on the child table. If more info is needed, just let me know what is needed. Thank you! ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Re: Convert Numeric Fields to Birth Date Worked perfect! Just not intuitive that the year would be listed first but still get the output MM-DD-YYYY. Thank you Mark! ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------ Convert Numeric Fields to Birth Date I have 3 multi-choice fields (Month, Day, Year) which contain numbers only and I have converted those fields to Numeric fields. I need to put the three fields together to get the birth date (MM-DD-YYYY). We are doing it this way because users in other countries need to populate the info and we have to make sure they don't enter a date as DD-MM-YYYY. By having the 3 different fields, that allows us to control the output. I have tried using both the original field values and the numeric field values but can't get the right output. What is the best way to convert multiple choice fields to a date field? Thank you! ------------------------------ Amy Gosz ------------------------------
