TO find the Report ID, look at the qid in the URL of the report page: View Report: ?a=q& Report ID: qid=REPORTID So your url should look similar to this: URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?act=API_EditRecord&apptoken=tokenmID&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "&_fid_80=1" & "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=q&qid=" & REPORTID) I found these things through the community, but I am sure there is documentation on this somewhere. ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ Trigger Field to be required only during Grid EditI have a weird issue that I am hoping someone can help me with. Short Story: I need a field to be required, but ONLY when it is being displayed in a grid edit report nested in a form. I tried creating a new form specifically for grid edit, and added a form rule to that, but unfortunately, that doesn't work. Long Explanation: We have a pipeline that triggers to create a set of sub records and displays as a grid edit report on a form for the user to fill out. Unfortunately, our users are not fully populating the grid edit report. We want to require a field to prevent the user from saving the form without updating the records. However, if we make the field required at the Field level, then it has to be populated in the Pipeline, which defeats the purpose of the user populating it. So we need it to be required only once the record has been created. Pipelines and Automations don't have a setting for modifying fields, so I am trying to figure out an alternate solution. Any ideas? ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ Re: Parent/Child Tables and Unique FieldsJust a quick thought, you could have a contact table and just create a relationship to the customer/group and pull the contact info that way? ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ Re: Importing Rich Text from external systemCould you convert your text fields in Quickbase to Rich Text Fields as well so that they match up? That should re-set the html to display properly? ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ MS Teams link to QuickbaseI am trying to find if there is a way to connect MS Teams to Quickbase. We track our time in QB and my goal is to have a one click button that will open up a QB form to populate time from MS Teams meetings from MS Teams. I have been seeing some people suggest App Studio and the QB API, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any suggestions for connecting the two before I went down the rabbit hole. Thanks so much! ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ Re: Save and Print a Formglad to hear it Hank, that code page has definitely got some really good options in it ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ Re: Save and Print a FormAhh I think I see what the issue may be. Create a Rich text field I created one just now to test: //-- create variable for the record id var text rid = If([Record ID#]>0, ToText([Record ID#]), // Record ID already exists "%%rid%%" // New record, no Record ID exists yet ) ; // -- create variable that has the url link to where you want to go var text redirect =URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=printr&dfid=11&rid=" & $rid; //-- the text in bold is the variable that has the record id in it "<a class='SaveBeforeNavigating' data-replaceRid=true href='" & $redirect & "'>Generate Print</a>" I think this should work, but I have never used that Print feature before so I am not sure. You shouldn't have to redirect anything in this case since you are just sending them to print the saved form. But no promises. ------------------------------ Ursula Llaveria ------------------------------ Re: Save and Print a FormI found this in the quickbase code samples, may work for you but I don't know for certain. var text rid = If([Record ID#]>0, ToText([Record ID#]), // Record ID already exists "%%rid%%" // New record, no Record ID exists yet ) ; var text url = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=er&rid=" & $rid; "<a class='Vibrant Primary SaveBeforeNavigating' data-replaceRid=true href='" & $url & "'>Save & Keep Working - Rich Text</a>" In your case, you would need to save the record prior to pulling up the print functionality. This would save your record, and then you can use the rdr= to redirect you to the print version.
