Good morning QuickBase Community, Question: If I'm using a shared value from field #1 in field #2 (different tables), how can I link them? Your help here would be greatly appreciated. I am a Data team of one! I currently have two tables in quickbase – An employee table (built already)– where each employee gets a row with their demographic info. Primary Key: Each individual's User ID A managers table– where each employee gets a row for every manager they had. A manager will always be an employee. I have the tables set up successfully (down to each manager being associated with an employee user ID from shared values) except I'd like to be able to link each manager to its corresponding employee table record (e.g., if Hagos is a manager, his manager record is linked to his employee table data). That way, I can pull relational things like what's highlighted and do other things that rely on relationships (e.g., drilldowns, counting the # of direct reports a manager has). Employee Table Employee Name User ID Race Gender Current Job Title # Direct Reports Jason 910 Black or African American Male QuickBase Specialist 2 Person 1 139 White Female QuickBase Specialist Managers Table Employee Name Manager User ID (this is currently a multiple choice text shared value from employee name) Manager Name (this is currently a formula that pulls name from user id from the employee table) Manager Race (pulls from the employee table using the User ID) Person 1 910 Jason Black or African American Person 1 911 Ronnie Person 1 912 Kayla Person 2 910 Jason Thank you so much, Hagos ------------------------------ Hagos Hagos ------------------------------SolvedComplex Table Relationships Question I currently have the following: An employee table (built already)– where each individual gets a row with their demographic info An annual employment snapshot (built already) – where each individual gets a row for each year they're employed (e.g., if someone has been employed for five years, they get five rows) Do you have any ideas on how I can achieve the following? - Track each individual's mentors by year in the employee snapshot table (in any given year, an individual can have several mentors). I envision it looking like what's below. - Have the mentor linked to the employee table (so, each mentor can be linked to their demographic information). I envision it looking like what's below. Employment snapshot data: Name (links to employee table) Year Mentors (links to a mentors table) Employee1 2020 Mentors Employee1 2021 Mentors When I click Employee1's 2020 mentors table link I get: Name (links to employee table) Year Mentor (also links to employee table) Role Employee1 2020 Mentor1 Role1 Employee1 2020 Mentor2 Role2 Employee1 2020 Mentor3 Role3 And the mentors are linked to the employee table (Mentors will always be someone in the people table) Thank you. ------------------------------ Hagos Hagos ------------------------------Syncing table data/automation question Is what I have below possible to accomplish in QuickBase? If so, what steps should I take to accomplish this? Anytime an assignment gets scored in QuickBase, it pulls each individual's assignment score, cached date, score, attempt, and a lot of other data (from a gradebook sync). Name Assignment group Assignment Name Cached Date Score Attempt Name1 A (1)- 9/12/2022 9/13/2022 0 1 Name1 A (1)- 9/12/2022 9/20/2022 0 2 Name1 A (1)- 9/12/2022 9/21/2022 1 3 Name1 A (2)-9/19/2022 9/25/2022 1 1 Name2 A (1)- 9/12/2022 9/13/2022 0 1 Name2 A (2)-9/19/2022 9/25/2022 1 1 Name2 A (1)-9/12/2022 9/20/2022 0 2 Ideally: anytime someone's assignment gets graded (and it's a group A assignment): A new row would be added to the below table (assignment name) There could be a field that calculates that individual's maximum assignment score Name Assignment Name Max Score Name1 (1)- 9/12/2022 1 Name1 (2)- 9/19/2022 1 Name2 (1)- 9/12/2022 0 Name2 (2)- 9/19/2022 1 Thank you.Re: QuickBase Pipelines Trigger Issue (Google Sheets Pipeline)You're right. It ended up updating, but I just needed to wait for a few minutes. Thank you. ------------------------------ Hagos Hagos ------------------------------ QuickBase Pipelines Trigger Issue (Google Sheets Pipeline)When I try to have a pipeline get triggered by "Row updated", it doesn't work; the pipeline only works when I manually sync the pipeline. Has anyone ever ran into this issue? If so, how did you resolve it? Context: I've successfully synced google sheets to quickbase via pipelines. Now, data entered in google sheets syncs to QuickBase when I click the sync to pipelines button. My goal now is to get Google sheets to sync to QB right when a google sheets row is updated (without me clicking the button). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. ------------------------------ Hagos Hagos ------------------------------ Is it still worthwhile to use Power BI for dashboarding vs QuickBase's new inhouse dashboard tool?Given the new QuickBase dashboards and the direction QuickBase is heading towards with dashboarding (i.e., a more state of the art dashboard tool), do you think it's still worthwhile to use Power BI for dashboarding? I've been using the quickbase pages/buttons workaround for a while, which has been pretty effective, but felt limiting and clunky compared to Power BI and other dashboarding systems. And, while QuickBase's new modern dashboards seem very promising, they run very slow, only have up to 4 filters per page, and don't have nearly as many data visualizations as Power BI. I'd love your thoughts because I'm stumped. It'd be nice to have everything in house, but I also think (from what I've seen) Power BI dashboards just have much more capabilities. Thank you for any support, Hagos
