For example, we have multiple account managers, for privacy reasons we may have to lock down each account managers clients. So you could only see the clients/records within the accounts your group is assigned to. Is it possible to assign a QuickBase group to our clients parent company, which are the highest level of the client data structure, and have only the people within that QuickBase group be able to see records connected to that parent company? Kind of like Team A can only see stuff assigned to Team A, and Team B can only see stuff assigned to Team B. ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------ Re: Further Customize what a record is called Perfect! Further Customize what a record is called Any way to get further customization of what a record is called? For reference of what I am talking about. Yes I could change the name of the the table, and what each record in the table is. But is it possible to make it info from a field, or even [Field A] & [Field B] to concatenate some text together. ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------ Trigger Action Off Look Up Fields I have two tables workers and claims. One worker can have many claims. I have an action setup to run when a claim is added or modified based on having certain information related to a worker. Its a formula that gives us a yes or no depending if that information is filled in the worker entry. Currently when adding a claim it is firing the action appropriately based on the yes no trigger. If the information is added at a later date, the action is not triggering. If I submit the information in the workers record causing the formula field to change from no to yes in the claim, it should fire the action? ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------ Re: URL Button keeps me where I am Well there is a name I am familiar with from some time ago. This worked flawlessly thank you! ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------ URL Button keeps me where I am I have the following button that user can only click on a record while viewing it var text URLONE = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?act=API_EditRecord&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "&_fid_21=1"; var text URLTWO = URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TASK] & "?act=API_AddRecord" & "&_fid_11=" &URLEncode([Related Sub Company (ref)]) & "&_fid_13=" &URLEncode([Record ID#]) & "&_fid_6=" &URLEncode("I have created the DOA for " & [Worker]) & "&_fid_10=" &URLEncode([First Consultant]) & "&_fid_11=" &URLEncode(User()) & "&_fid_8=" &URLEncode(Today()) & "&_fid_7=" &URLEncode(Today()); $URLONE & "&rdr=" & URLEncode($URLTWO) Button does exactly what I want it do. It has been awhile but outside of adding a third URL variable redirecting to the record they are already, is there an easy way to have the user just stay inside the record they are in when they click the button? ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------ Re: How to setup a client protal I did see the form wizard where I could embed something on a website, but I really like the idea of a client only app. I could create a client role inside that Quickbase app to control what they can see and create a you can only view what you input restriction. I am interested in your approach to tie a user to a company in your app. For example we have Parent Companies, Sub Companies of the Parent Company, with locations and workers. So how would I lock it down so that in a drop down menu client a only sees stuff related to their company. Would I create a client table and relate the parent companies to that client and force that field to autofill to the current user? ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------ How to setup a client protalWe are using QuickBase to manage claims from an assortment of clients. In order for a claim to be inputted into the system currently they needed to phone in or email a consultant. We would like to be able to have clients input some information directly before having an administrative assistant reads through what is inputted and prep it be taken over by a consultant. What are we looking at in terms of making this a reality? Do all the clients need to have a paid seat to be able to do this? Do I need to setup an app for each client to input into to keep privacy in check? Can I just create a form to share with the client that will input information into a Quickbase table? ------------------------------ Jordan Beatty ------------------------------
