ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Rich Text StylingPerhaps there is some confusion. I'm not referring to the positioning of the Field on the page or the field itself, but the contents of the field. If you look at the attached screenshot from the original post you will notice that the text bleeds outside the Rich Text field. I want the text to remain inside the field by wrapping, i.e. to be contained inside the field and not bleed outside. Also, how to edit the font and size of the text via the code in the button? ------------------------------ Thomas Easterling ------------------------------ Re: Rich Text StylingSame look. 1) have the text fit inside the rich text box, 2) change the font to Gotham Book italic and size to 9 ------------------------------ Thomas Easterling ------------------------------ Rich Text StylingHi, My users want a button to pre-populate some Rich Text fields. Here is my solution: URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=API_EditRecord&apptoken=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "&_fid_202=
project management of included scope | shop drawings (+1 revision) | material | fabrication | finishing + sample (+ 2 revisions) | delivery | installation
&_fid_203=
general
exterior work | metalwork | stonework | electrical work | plumbing | structural work (wood or metal) | finish carpentry (siding, jambs, etc) | decorative hardware, hooks, and accessories | upholstery | appliance supply and install | non-wood countertops | metal cabinets | glass supply and install | mirror supply and install | passage doors | pocket doors | track hardware | grommet supply | art rails | standalone furniture | access panels not shown in drawing set | building permits
specific
tbd
&_fid_204=
adequate parking within 1/4 mile for installation and finishing staff | onsite accommodation for storage, cutting, and finishing onsite within 100 yds of work area | scaffolding provided at areas of installation greater than 10 ft a.f.f.
&_fid_34=
Work performed outside of specifed scope:
•labor $75/ installer | $65/ finisher
•return trips $125/ installer | $100/ finisher
•materials Cost plus 15%
" & "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/bnpew6eji?a=dr&rid=" & [Record ID#]) However, I'm getting this result: How can I edit my code to 1) have the text fit inside the rich text box, 2) change the font and size? ------------------------------ T$ ------------------------------ View rules propagating down to children and grandchildren Under Roles > Permissions > Table Access View Permissions > Custom Rule Does the rule created in the parent table propagate down to the children? For example, PROJECTS can have many WORK_ORDERS which can have many TASKS. Now say I have 100 PROJECTS records and I create my custom rule based on a type field that essentially divides the records into two groups. My rule excludes some PROJECTS records based on type. Would it also exclude those realted children records of the excluded PROJECTS records? Like would the related WORK_ORDERS and TASKS records also be hidden or would I need to make custom rules for those tables as well? ------------------------------ T$ ------------------------------ Save and redirect to parent recordProblem: From the parent record a child record is added. When users just save and close the newly created child record they are redirected back to the parent record, but if they use the native save and keep working button, then later use the native save and close button, they are redirected to a view mode of the child record they were editing instead of being redirected back to the original parent record. Solution thus far: 2 buttons. 1st button is a custom formula - rich text "Save and Keep Working" button. "<a class='Vibrant Success' onclick=$('#footerSaveAndKeepWorkingMenuOption').click();>Save and Keep Working" This works with no issues as it's pretty straight forward. 2nd button is a custom save and redirect back to parent button. This is where I'm having all sorts of problems. I've tried a formula - url with no success. URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_LINE_ITEMS] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_77=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#]) & "&z=" & Rurl() Projects is the parent table. Line Items is the child table. fid_77 is the [#Related Project] field from the Line Items table. Please advise. Cheers. ------------------------------ T$ ------------------------------ Re: Custom Save and RedirectThank you. Did the trick and is very simple which is even better. ------------------------------ Thomas Easterling ------------------------------ Custom Save and RedirectI've yet to find the solution I'm looking for. Goal: Save the current record and redirect to a native QuickBase user homepage based on their role. URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TASKS] & "?a=API_EditRecord&apptoken=*******&rid=" & URLEncode([TASK - Record ID#]) & "&_fid_16=" & URLEncode([staff_member]) & "&_fid_15=" & URLEncode([department]) & "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TASKS] & "?a=dr&rid=" & [TASK - Record ID#]) Currently we're redirecting to the previous task record where the user came from. Ideally we'd like the user to be redirect to their QuickBase homepage based on their role, i.e. user in the role of Operator A goes to the Operations Home Page and user in the role of Operator B goes to the Production Home Page. Any suggestions? Thank you ------------------------------ T$ ------------------------------ Re: URL button to preform multiple actions in same clickThank you for the clarification. Yes that worked as the js was overriding the previous call. ------------------------------ Thomas Easterling ------------------------------ Re: URL button to preform multiple actions in same clickYour suggestion is to add a blank line in the code to separate the table's actions? Well, I tried it and it was unsuccessful. ------------------------------ T$ ------------------------------ URL button to preform multiple actions in same clickHave an URL Button on a parent (table 1 parent) TASKS table that checks a user out of a task and loads necessary info into a child (table 2 child) TIME_CARDS table. It's been requested that upon click of button, two basic functions are preformed: 1) Adds necessary info to the child TIME_CARDS table. 2) Loads new record form for child (table 3 child) TASKS_CHECK_OUTS table and pre-populates a few fields in said form. There has been several unsuccessful iterations of the code. Currently the code is as follows and works in that it adds the necessary info to the TIME_CARDS table. However, it does not load the correct TASKS_CHECK_OUTS form. var text url= URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TIME_CARDS] & "?a=API_EditRecord&apptoken=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" & URLEncode ([Max Check-In Time Card Record ID # for Current User]) & "&_fid_33=" & URLEncode(Now()) // check out & "&_fid_35=" & URLEncode([WORK_ORDER - wo_number]) & "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TASKS_CHECK_OUTS] & "?a=nwr&dfid=2" & "&_fid_9=" & URLEncode([Record ID#]) ) ; If([Max Check-In Time Card Record ID # for Current User]>=1, "javascript:" & "$.get('" & $url & "', function(){" & "location.reload(true);" & "});" & "void(0);" ) Please advise. ------------------------------ T$ ------------------------------
