ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsQuestions from our June Feature Focus Webinar Quick Update: Doc Creation via the Quickbase Pipeline Channel is being pulled from this release to give our team time to look into an issue, please refer to our future release notes for when it will be released. If you weren’t able to join our June Feature Focus webinar live, you can still watch it on-demand here. Pipelines With the new Pipelines error notification emails can we suppress automatic emails to the Realm Owner/Admins? · Currently there is not a way to pick who among your realm admins receive this email, it will go to all realm admins to assure they are getting notified of technical issues. If this is something you have a need for in your organization, we recommend adding it as product feedback. Will the document be saved to a file attachment field? (Pipelines Doc Creation Step) · Our Document Creation step for Pipelines has been pulled from this release, we are working on an issue with it that meant we needed to pause on releasing it right now. Can we see those templates even if we've built PLs before? (Templates on the new Pipelines Dashboard for users with no Pipelines) · Right now, the new Pipelines Dashboard that will show up for users with no Pipelines won’t show up for users with Pipelines, that includes the template Pipelines listed there. You can find some of those same Pipelines in our Exchange listed under the section for Jinja Snippets that can be used to create similar Pipelines and you can also access the help of Smartbuilder to create Pipelines under the AI sparkle that appears in the global bar when you are in Quickbase. Grid Reports What is this feature? · We're replacing table reports with the more modern and powerful Grid Reports, which let you directly edit data like in a spreadsheet. When will this feature release? · Grid Reports is targeted for open beta in August 2025, but we will provide specific timelines in future release notes What plan will have access to Grid Reports? · It will be available on all plans In grid edit - will we be able to freeze the first column? · In Grid Reports you will be able to freeze the first column and still be able to edit fields as you move through the report Did we get the ability to set the default row height? · The team did add an option for this in the report settings for admins with an eye towards flexibility for end users to be able to adjust it When the users adds columns, does it stay (across days? log ins/log outs?), or is it temporary? · Our goal is to simplify the expected behavior for new grid reports from what is currently implemented in current “new style” table reports. We will retain the report state (filtered, sorted, grouped, searched) of the last report the user visited. If you visit another report in the same table or a different table, we will clear the draft state of the previous report. · We will not remember your report state across sessions (log in/log out/timeout). · Report state will also be cleared if you click on the report name from the reports dropdown. Word wrap for column height? · We’ll add an option that will allow users to choose if they want to wrap column headers or truncate the values to one line. The permission for Grid Report will be only by application, is there an option to enable it by user? · No. The option to enable/disable grid reports exists at the application level. If your users want to continue to use legacy styles, they can switch back to legacy table reports using the “new style” toggle available on the report. How many fields in a table have you tested for the column panel? Sadly we have some tables with a LOT of fields. · We still need to do performance optimizations for larger field sets but that is something we will be working on during the beta How will this impact embedded reports on forms that users grid edit? · Grid Reports will also be available on embedded reports when it is enabled for an app Any export option changes · No. Export should continue to work as it does today. If you want to limit so they can only grid edit certain fields, but allow users to edit more fields on the detailed form to prevent error updating. is there anyway to do that? I know we can do it the other ways that form is more restrictive than the report, but I'm looking it to be the other way. · Custom data validation will be the best option to handle this, though we recognize it’s not a perfect solution. · We are exploring the potential to add in a rules engine for grid reports that would function similarly to forms. Nothing concrete to share yet and this will not be available at the time of launch. Will URL buttons work in grid edit? How will copy and paste from Excel into grid edit work? Last question, will you be able to embed grid report in the new form like the old forms and create child records at the same time as creating the parent? · Buttons: No, you’ll need to save and use the buttons in view mode. · Copy/paste: Copy/paste should work as long as your columns match in Quickbase to what you have in Excel. Obviously you’ll run into issues if you try to paste text into a date field for ex. Field type data validation is where you might run into issues here. · Create child records in embedded reports: Yes! This will be available. Are you still able to rename columns/how they display on the report without changing the field name? Changing this setting in current state is pretty cumbersome in that you have to do it in display and can't do it in the report settings. · This functionality will still be available. You’ll also still configure them in the same way as you do today on the front of the report. · Overhauling the report builder to include options like this would need to be a separate initiative tackled later. Do page down/up buttons work? · Yes, page up/down should be supported. You’ll want to make sure your focus is in a grid cell (select one to highlight it) before you start paging up/down. In embedded mode, can you add the add record button to the report? · Yes. The Column width memory is per user? (Not per report) · It’s per-user, per-report or widget. So if I adjust a column width that will be remembered for me for that report or widget only. It won’t apply for others that are viewing the report, but it will be remembered the next time you come back. Are we going to be able to control the columns the users will see? · (I’m assuming this is referring to the columns panel.) The columns that appear here are columns that the user has access to that are marked reportable. Users won’t see columns they don’t have access to. Check out our upcoming webinars here. Quickbase Email Deliverability Solutions for Spam Filtering Quickbase keeps an up-to-date Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record for all email servers used to send email from our platform. If you use SPF, you can adhere to your organization's spam filtering policy without having to allowlist the IP addresses of approved senders. Quickbase also maintains a valid DKIM signature. Important: SPF is our recommended and supported method for spam filtering. Since the IP address ranges of email servers can change without notice, customers should NOT allowlist IP addresses as the primary method of spam filtering to allow Quickbase emails to be received via IP address. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sender_Policy_Framework for more information on SPF. If your organization does allowlist email IP addresses, you should plan to implement SPF as soon as possible. If you continue to experience deliverability issues, despite implementing SPF, then allowlisting may be required to bypass more stringent filtering for some configurations. We recommend the allowlisting of the notify@quickbase.com email address as the first step in troubleshooting deliverability issues. If notifications continue to be unreliable, after allowlisting the notify@quickbase.com address, we would then advise the allowlisting of the Quickbase Email IPs listed in this article. If you choose to allowlist IP addresses, here is the CURRENT range used by the Quickbase Platform: 156.70.3.202 156.70.3.203 156.70.3.204 156.70.3.205 156.70.3.206 156.70.3.207 156.70.3.208 199.15.225.10 199.15.225.8 199.15.225.9 If, after all the steps above, you still continue to see deliverability issues, you could also allowlist *@quickbase.com, although this would not be the recommended course of action. Upload multiple files at once with our new File Manager Upload multiple files at once with our new File Manager You can quickly have your app users begin to save hours of time by dragging and dropping multiple files at once using desktop or the mobile app for so many uses such as asset management, sales, installation, service, projects, or audits and assessments. Our beta users have shared how quick and easy it is to install and setup File Manager. You can get started by making sure your account admin has turned plugins on for your account with a few quick steps below: First, your account admin will need to enable plugin installation permissions for app admins under Admin Console. Next, create or find one of your existing apps that has a parent with a child table relationship, where the child table is your file storage table having an attachment field. You can use an existing set of tables or create them before installing the plugin. After permissions and tables are all set, complete the easy two step installation by simply navigating to the app you want to install it within and going to app settings > Plugins and click the Install button to walk through the installation process like below. Installation Step Notes: The maximum number of files you can upload is 20 files with a single upload having a maximum of 30 MB. Want this to be higher? Submit a feedback request! For Install Step 2 Deleting Files field, we realized some customers may have a requirement for certain data in the child file storage table besides the file attachment and even have different roles populating different fields in the file record. Therefore, we established a setting whereby the app users could retain the child file record but just delete the file. Here are the selection options and what app users will see: Install Step 2 Deleting Files field. When you select: App users will see the following when deleting a file attachment using File Manager: Required fields: File attachment field in child file storage table Delete the file and its record Delete the file and its record? You may set the file attachment field as required. Don’t set other fields as required. Only delete the file Delete this file but not this record? Don’t set as required or app users won’t be able to delete the file. Don’t set other fields as required. Re: GANTT Template App - Issue Seeing Field Properties Hi Dwight, For your first question you may not be able to see a formula cause that field could be a Rich Text manual entry field. It is a less used option but it allows users to add in text with the ability to use rich text styling on that text for display. You can usually tell the difference because the manual entry Rich Text gives you the Display options of number of lines, max characters, and width of input box while the formula version only gives you a max character option since there isn't an input box. They both show up as just Rich Text in the type. You can turn log editing on in a Rich text field but it usually isn't on by design. With the field type adjusting on you it might be that the template app had that enabled and adding Gantt caused it to start logging. If things aren't woking right for you when you have plug ins turned on and are using Gantt I would recommend putting in a case with our tech support team to get some help trouble shooting. You can create a case here in Community using Support where it appears in the navigation at the very top of the page or in Quickbase when signed in under the question mark (?) icon by selecting Manage Support Cases. ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------ Re: Technical Documentation Hi Terri, Rob, a member of the team that keeps up our own help documentation, actually wrote an article on setting up help for your app users a while back that has some good suggestions and a place to get started. You can find it right here, we also have a lesson on documenting your app in our University you can find here. ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------ Re: Quickbase newbie needs help Hi Tom, Welcome to Quickbase, in the video you linked they are showing just a slightly older version of our trial intake form. That is something that we refresh from time to time, if you recently signed up for a trial what you should be getting fairly soon is an intro email from a rep here at QB to check in with you and offer to chat if you would like, that is exactly who that form used to update when we had it. So if you respond to their email with similar information they are there to help chat with you more about what your business goals are and what problems you are looking to solve and how we can help. Jumping right into Quickbase can feel a bit daunting so they are there to help chat about what you are looking to accomplish and what you are trying to learn during your trial to decide if QB is the right tool for you. I hope that helps and I'm definitely happy to help as well if you have questions. Have a great day! ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------ Re: Can some one please help where we can find Quickbase version ?I just wanted to echo Mark's question and ask if you are asking about the version for the mobile application you might have downloaded on your phone or if you are asking about if Quickbase the platform has a version? Quickbase the platform doesn't run on versions instead we have a monthly release cadence where we make changes to the platform and our release notes collect those changes. ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------ Re: Pipelines step limitationHi Don, Yes I can verify that if you need to go over 26 steps we recommend breaking your process into more than one pipeline and have the first pipeline end with triggering the next to run. This is based on the way we currently index Pipelines but Mark is right in noting that an update to the Pipelines UI is being worked on and that update in part would also help to remove this limit and open up the number of steps. ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------ Re: Formula Fields no longer showing errors??!Hi Mike, I see you are already tied to the bug so you should get the update when it goes live but we will also be putting up an update on our status page to let people know that our Product team is planning a patch to address this. Like I mentioned for now it is mostly just a heads up to let people know that they should double check that the output of their formula matches the field types if they are making changes and that they see what they expect. ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------ Re: Formula Fields no longer showing errors??!Hi Mike and Marcelo, That is an issue our tech support team has flagged and they are working with our Product team right now on a solution. For now you can save formulas if the type of data they output doesn't match the field type but it should still block formulas with incorrect syntax. We recommend for those building formulas that they make sure to check their formulas after save to make sure they are seeing the results they would expect. If you would like to be kept up to date on when this is resolved if you put in a case with the tech support team they will update when it is resolved and add you to our open escalation. ------------------------------ Evan Martinez ------------------------------
