Since QuickBase is making new RecordID how do i go about migrating into the RecordID used by QuickBase instead of relying on PersonID and OrderID/PersonID of the old database where the exports are coming from? I have some ideas that i can export the main customer table after inporting into QB and get the RecordID there and then future exports can have the RecordID added to them before importing.Can I override the default RecordID or something like that?What is the best way to go about importing from another database?Export From:Table (client) - PersonIDTable (orders) - PersonID one to manyImport to QuickBase:Table (Client) - receives a new Record ID made by QuickBase.Table (Orders) - receives a new RecordID made by QuickBase relationship joined to RecordID in client as one to many

What would be the recommendation of migrating 300-500 users from another application we're going to stop using and start using Quickbase?  There will be multiple groups and roles, so is there an import for all group and roles and will it send out email notifications?

I've been going in circles on this and can't figure out if I'm making a mistake or hitting a platform limitation. Would really appreciate any insight.What I'm trying to doI have a Rich Text field called [Jira ID - Description] that contains HTML like this:<p><b>Tool Link(s):</b> <a href="https://example.com/...">Group 1</a><br/> <b>Request Note:</b> N/A</p>I'm trying to extract the link text ("Group 1") using standard text formula functions.The weird partThese two expressions on the same field, same record give me contradictory results:Contains([Jira ID - Description], "Tool Link") → True Find("Oak Link", [Jira ID - Description]) → 0How can Contains find the text but Find can't? I've tried every capitalization variation, I've triple-checked the record ID in the formula checker, and the field preview clearly shows the content is there. Length() returns 800, so the field isn't empty.What I've already triedMid() — always returns blankL

Hey everyone, following up on the code-pages thread!Here's the first look at the thing we mentioned coming to the Exchange: The Hub (Lite). It's an app for your Quickbase realm — a single place to access, organize, and manage every app, with a release notes feed and feedback tracker built in. It really improves the way all users navigate through QB. This is definitely a labor of love for the Quickbase community.Quick walkthrough + a way to grab time with us if you'd like to see it live:  https://levery.quickbase.com/db/bu77rzdv3?a=dbpage&pageID=19We're waiting on Exchange approval — but we've decided to go ahead and open installs to anyone who is looking to get their hands on it earlier. Would love to hear what you think.

I use to have an add on called exact forms and now Qbase bought the company, and the only way to access it is by upgrading QBase to higher package then we have which is thousands of dollars more plus the add on. There must be a different way to be able to have a template and print. another provider for an add on perhaps. I could even take the template and put it to excel instead of word. Does anyone have ideas?

Hello Quickbase community!I'm stuck on trying to build a configuration where I can lookup & add multiple records from a child table, and add them to a parent table record.I have a primary table, Films, full of Film records. I used to have tags/labels for these records that I kept in a multi-select text field, but I now have more than 100 values, so I needed to create a related table. So, I created a new table, Categories.What I'd like to do is be able to add multiple Category records to one Film. I was able to figure out how to add 1 Category to each Film, but I wanted to be able to add 2 or more. In my screenshot, my Film record, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', has the Category record 'Franchises' attached to it. I also need to add the Category records 'Spider-Man', 'Actor | Tom Holland', and 'Actor | Zendaya' to the Film record. Shouldn't I be able to click a button (based on a Formula URL field) to add records one by one, which will then display in a mini table of related records?T

Hello,Using the new-style forms and new-style grid reports, we are trying to get child records that are updated to subtotal on the parent form.I have a parent table called "Questionnaires" and a child tabled called "Allocations".On the Questionnaires form, users are able to enter a percent allocations using an embedded grid report tied to the child Allocations. Allocation records are created via Pipeline and users are only entering a percentage amount.We would like users to be able to see their total allocation so they know when they have reached 100%. I have added a summary report onto the form, but it does not update until the parent record is saved. This is fine and makes sense, however when the parent record is saved, there is a delay in totals updating.To get around this delay, I have created a "RunPauseRefresh" (borrowed from the ol' Magic Buttons app) and a "Calculate" button, which is an "Edit Record" button with a redirect to the code page. The redirect to the code page has a

I move file attachments to sharepoint and then grab the url link and add that to the record. When the attachment is a outlook message, it opens in the outlook instead of the sharepoint.Is there a way around this?

I have a new form that has a signoff section at the bottom. Used for our stores as EOTI. Each store receives a secure link to their record/form. When stores enter a value in one of the signoff fields and hit the tab key or the enter key to move to the next field, the form comes out of edit mode and goes into view mode. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Hoping someone can help!Thank you,Kim

I have a pipeline created to take a file attachment and move it to sharepoint and then update the quickbase record with url link.I'm having a problem trying to get it to delete the file attachment in Quickbase after. What should be in the URL field, name field and value field?

Where can i get some assistance when working with the University tutorials about Catabay Employee Training?  The pipeline for making the courses populate for manager or employee isn't working for me.

We are adding users to a new app, which is our first one using the new spreadsheet style grid edit. What are best practices, in terms of:backend restrictions to not allow grid edit for users who likely don't need ittraining / instructing frontend users on the new behaviourThanks.

Hello, i want to update my filter query to use a variable for the column number.var text vRef = [ReferenceID]; var text QUERY = "{7.EX.'5'}";vRef is my column number, what is the right way to replace the 7 in my query with vRef?I've tried changing my ReferenceID column to both text and numeric, and have changed vRef to match, but neither seems to work. var number vRef = [ReferenceID]; var text QUERY = "{vRef.EX.'5'}";

We have a URL button that uses API_editrecord to check mark the completed box on a record. We have an email notification that is triggered when a new record is added to the table. When we reply to the email notification, just within our company emails, I noticed that the reply is triggering the URL button. Does anyone know why this is happening? I've removed the rich text button from the email notification but still trying to figure out why replying to an email acts like clicking a button.

I have a page (not a dashboard) we are using as a homepage for our app and it has just come up that we would like to display a particular report from one of our other apps. I know this is a simple ask to do with a dashboard, but I'm not sure if there's a good way to do it on just a regular page.I am considering rebuilding the page as an actual dashboard at some point, but that is a bigger project and I figured I would ask here in case anyone knows of an easy way to do this in the meantime.I have tinkered around with creating a dashboard showing just my desired report in the source app, then embedding web page in my destination page, but that never seem to work. I also tried creating a code page in my source app and populating it with the iframe embed code QB generates for you when you select the Share icon on a dashboard...<head></head> <body> <iframe width="800" height="500" src="[my app string]?a=showpage&pageIdV2=24b11780-3e68-4fb7-ac1e-c25237440095&em

Hello, I would like to add a save and keep working button in the middle of my form. This would be used for new records that have yet to be saved before. Is that possible and how can I do it? I can get it to work for existing records but not new ones that haven't been saved yet.

I am trying to pull out a record ID # from an email subject or email body.I want:Input -     Re: 4793 - New Ticket -...Output - 4793OrInput - Should be handled by: MaintenanceRecipients: MaintenanceTicket #: 4793Asset ID: empty Output - 4793 How can I accomplish this with jinja in a pipeline?

I'm trying to do this the easiest way possible and could use some advise.I have 4 tablesMarket, Activites,Base Agreements, AdmendmentsThe activities table can be related to one or more of each of the other tables but don't have to be related to all of the other tables.I was hoping that I could for example in the Activities table have a field named Market and it be a multi select field.  Then on the Market form, I could show all of the Activities that have that market selected.  I don't know how to filter that report to only show the activity records that have the market name.I appreciate any assistance.

Attempting to build a link that would navigate users to a google map page.  What am I doing wrong? Using the logic below results in an "http://<a href=" ahead of the url. i.e. http://<a href=http://:www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=> Street 1 City State Zip</a>var text Words = ([Account - Venue Address: Street 1]&" "&[Account - Venue Address: City]&" "&[Account - Venue Address: State/Region]&" "&[Account - Venue Address: Postal Code]);var text URL = ("http://:www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query="); "<a href=" & $URL & ">" & $Words & "</a>" ------------------------------Ryan Parr------------------------------

Hello all!We have a Wiki app that tracks all pipelines in our realm (along with other items regarding our apps). The process is for whomever created the pipeline to create a new record to enter details about the pipeline (pipelineID, name, description, etc.). The problem is that not all our builders remember this process. Someone on my team asked if we could create a pipeline that enters at least a placeholder record in the Wiki app with some details of the pipeline. I thought it was a great out of box idea but don't know if it's possible. Would love any ideas/insight any of you can provide.

It seems that timeline reports are not available to be slected when setting up a document template. Has anyone figured out a workaround for this?

Good day everyone! This is likely convoluted. I haven't been able to figure a way to actually do this and I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I have a couple of tables that will hold some information.The tables involved: Asset TableAffected AssetTicket Asset The asset table hosts the information of the Asset itself (Serial Number etc). We create a new record in the Affected Asset table based off the information in the Asset table that attaches ticket information to it. I'm trying to add information to the affected Asset Table that when we create that record, it will record what's wrong with that asset and why we are getting it back.What I want to do is.  When we go to add the Asset onto an OOW Ticket, that it populates the Ticket Asset Report with the Latest "laptop Issue" field based off the Assets Serial Number (unique identifier).  I am unsure how to grab the most up to date. I likely skipped a step by cutting out the Asset Table i

Is there a way to open the record in a larger pop-up or to open the record is full view?I have a report on the main from of child records but when you click view or edit it opens in a pop-up and it's just to small.Thanks

I have a checklist which is 20 or so checkbox questions across 5 different Sections,  to work through a field inspection. I am looking to provide a visual representation of when Section 1s 5 check boxes are not clicked it would show red/ not started, when 1 or more but less than the 5 are checked it would show yellow/ in-progress, and when all 5 check boxes are clicked it would show green/ complete. And I would do this foreach Section. What is the best way to complete this and be able to show it in a Form and on a Report view? Thanks.

I have recently closed my business and opened a new one with a new domain name. I already updated my company name in the admin settings, but I have one concern - before I change my email domain... I need to know will changing the email domain in Quickbase break any of my pipelines or my imports?My application relies heavily on imports, which I know from experience will break when I make a new copy of the app. I just need to know before I start, because if it does break I have a lot of work to do before I can do anything else.Thanks!
