"Attempting to add a non-unique value to a field marked "unique" error on a QB Connected Table
My connected table has been erroring out on the hourly table refreshes due to the following error: The error was: Trying to add a non-unique value to a field marked unique - Your import data has duplicate values for the following unique fields Field name: " I was able to verify that the field in question does not have any duplicate values in both the source and destination table. In addition, the destination table already has the records in question within the table, so if anything, the records should be updated but there shouldn't be an error on the refresh. Has anyone else dealt with a similar issue? Not certain of what next steps to try aside from reaching out to QB Support. ------------------------------ Niraj Shah ------------------------------108Views0likes8CommentsSync Vs Relationships
There is a great blog here about the pros and cons of Cross App relationships, vs sync, vs table imports. Sharing Data Across Quick Base Apps: Part 1 Cross App Relationships, Table to Table Imports, and Sync I am aware that you want to avoid having 15 apps, somehow all intertwined with cross app relationships. I am trying to better understand the why. It seems that cross app relationships will create dependencies, so that all apps basically travel together and are forced to be run by a single QB server. Is that basically the explanation? For example, if I have 4 apps intertwined with cross app relationships, and then a 5th app has a single cross app relationship with one of those 4 apps, did I just lock that 5th app in with the rest of those? Not sure if someone is able to give a brief explanations in mildly technical and mildly layman's terms? ------------------------------ Michael Tamoush ------------------------------84Views0likes5CommentsCan't import fields
I've looked through many posts and can't find anything similar. I have a table that has eleven fields connected through Google Drive, one of which is the key field. I want to import three fields that are not connected but will update the related "unit number" but I keep getting the error in the snippet. I tried it on another table that is also connected and it worked fine. I am the app admin as also shown. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Steve Pearson ------------------------------80Views0likes2CommentsSync Table Question
I have a table that holds session tokens for a third party app. This third party app will now be used with another app I administer. Would it be a good idea to move the current table to the app I use for data transfers and create a sync table in the two apps that will need access to the session token rather than creating cross app relationships? I look forward to hearing your thoughts ------------------------------ Paul Peterson ------------------------------61Views0likes6CommentsQuickBase Sync: You don't have permission to import data into a restricted field.
I am using Quick Base Sync on one of my tables (Contracts) and it recently started displaying this error: The error was: You don't have permission to import data into a restricted field. It's a Quick Base Sync SFTP. The SFTP credentials appear to be okay when testing it. I checked the permissions of each individual field and of the table and there aren't any restrictions that I'm aware of. I have one role "Everyone on the Internet", that I thought might be an issue, but even that has full access to this table. The Quick Base Sync history provides a link to their common errors, but this one is not listed. I wasn't sure if anyone encountered this particular error and where else to look in the settings. ------------------------------ Quincy Adam ------------------------------51Views0likes1CommentHow to convert a connected table to Quick Base Table
I have a table that is a combination of a Connected CSV file and Quick Base created editable fields. Because of this mix I am having problems keep data synchronized when one of my "Key Fields" changes. Was wonder if there is quick trick to convert the data into a Quick Base Table and remove the connection? ------------------------------ Bradford Fullerton ------------------------------51Views0likes6CommentsConnected Table refresh errors
I am not able to get quickbase to successfully fully sync with connected tables. The source csv files are UTF-8 and stored in a google drive. I have also tried dropbox and get the same errors with different csv's and different data - It only imports many less rows than are in the CSV file for example 1,000 rows (exactly) of 16,560 rows - another table imported only 15,000 of 185,000 rows The typical error on all these tables looks like this: "There was a problem refreshing the table. Elapsed time was 2 minutes. The file was CRM0003.csv. The error was: Could not parse XML input - XML Parsing Error. reference to invalid character number at line 90 column 3 (which is byte 18351)" but although I get this type of error on all tables it does not at all correspond to the number of rows imported. If anyone has experienced similar issues and overcome it I would be very interested to hear from them. Kind regards Morgan35Views1like5CommentsSyncing Multiple Apps
Our company has multiple work groups who have each created their own apps for project management. Is there a way to sync project information from their apps into one single app. Our Directors are wanting a single place to go for project information overview, which could also be used for invoicing purposes. Any ideas?33Views2likes13CommentsHow can I update a connected field whose column name changes in the connected CSV?
We recently had to make a change to the CSV file that is used in a connected table via Quickbase Sync. This column name change immediately caused the sync to fail on the next interval, which makes sense. I expected there to be a way to go to the connected field in Quickbase (that was now orphaned), and "re-link" it to the newly renamed field in the CSV. However, there only appeared to be the option to delete my orphaned connected field, and add the "new" renamed field. In this situation that wasn't too big of a deal, but if that field had a long list in the "usage" tab (reports, calculated fields, relationships, etc) it would have been very tricky. Is there not a way to re-link a broken connection to a field?31Views1like3Comments
