How to import XML data into Quickbase

    Hi,

I don't use the API too often nor am i an real coder but I will be getting data via an XML file transfer and am at a loss as to how I'm going to import that data into Quickbase.

I'd prefer not having to transform the data but if thats not possible, it is what it is.

Is there a way to allow Quickbase to accept XML data as an input to populate a QB data table?

These data updates would most likely happen in real time, so any way i can get this XML feed turned into QB reports would be good.

I'm confused here, are you planning on using the API/some kind of code for this or are you saying you would rather avoid that and are looking for other options? If coding, what language will you be doing this in? JavaScript, Python, C?

Where is the data coming from? You might be able to do the initial import of the data and then just use webhooks to make changes per record as the data changes. This would depend on how the data is coming to you and if there are any integrations possible with other systems like Workato or similar.

    G.

You cannot import the XML file in the same way as a CSV or Excel file.  You will need to write some code to read the XML and then write it into your Quick Base application.

You may have to transform the data if it is not going to be all in one table or needs to be related to existing parent records from other tables.

Happy to discuss a strategy for this at greater length.

I have a vague recollection that Excel can open XML files. Maybe that is a low tech conversion tool.
