Change to Table Home Page....Is there a way to make the Advanced Search Form the way it was in the Table Home Page?

Hello, I think there was a change over the weekend that did something to the Table Home Page and the Advanced Search Form. Please see OLD and NEW image to see the difference. I know the change I am talking about is very minor, but to some it is major.

The new Table Home Page with the Advanced Search Form as the default requires the user to select something in the drop down. The old way already had "<Some Field> contains" already selected in which helps our customer service rep save a second or 2 when trying to search for an order. Is there a way to select a default selection in the drop down?

This is the OLD way:

This is the NEW way:

  • This was deliberate to improve performance as the previous default encouraged users to do a performance intensive "contains" search on all fields.  My suggestion would be to configure a search box on the dashboard to search the relevant fields that makes sense to search.  You can choose up to 5 fields or select a report to use for the search.

    Advanced search defaults

Advanced search is available from Search on the global bar and on home pages of tables containing more than 10,000 records. We changed the default search option from <Some field> contains to Select a field. This encourages users to select a contains search only when necessary and may improve performance.

  • We are not happy to see this change. Where can we log a request to have it changed back?

Or at the very least, we'd like to have an option to turn toggle this change to the search functionality on/off.
  • The official feedback mechanism is via User voice.  You go to your My Apps page and there should be an orange tab at the left for feedback.
