Comments field growing too large for reports and form tables.

The text is getting to long. Want to create new field that will auto populate with the most recent comment from Comments field? I would then show the new field in reports and leave the full length Com...

OK, try this crazy looking formula
substitute your field name into the first line where my field name for testing was 
[Log changes append only at the top]


var text LogField = [Log changes append only at the top];

If(Trim($logField)<>"", 
"[" & Left(NotLeft($LogField,"["),"["))
