Create New Record Button Only Works for Admins

Hi all,
I'm very new to QB. I have inherited a simple app. We have a button on a dashboard to create a new record in a table. But a user with any role other than Admin (from the User Roles) gets an access denied error message when they click the button. If I make that same person an Admin, they can create a new record without issue.

There are 2 forms for that table: "quick entry" and "main form". When defining how roles use the forms, all roles are defined the same way: Add is set to quick entry form and View/Edit is set to the main form.

Other notes: I don't have full/create authorization in QB and am not the official App Owner. I have full admin access but I am finding there are some things I can't do. I've requested access but I don't have it yet. In the mean time, I really need to get this button working and I am hoping you all can help me. Thanks so much in advance!

  • You will want to visit the access page for the table, under settings. Make sure that both roles have the green checkbox highlighted under the 'Add' column.
