Dashboard Search results like Search and Select results

When I perform a search on my App's home page search widget, the results are limited and I have to type "AND" if I want to include any kind of flexibility.

However, when I'm on a create form and I'm doing a look up in a Search and Select, the results are much better and have boolean results.

Is there no way to configure the dashboard widget to return the same kind of results as the search and select look up?
