I would make a report of contractors and then make a URL formula button which would put today's date in a field called [Date Banking info requested].
The button would update that field and refresh the report which would be filtered to omit Contractors where that date field is today or some other date range.
Then set a Notification of Type OPEN to fire when that date field is updated.
Then you run the report and mindlessly click on the URL button on every record until the report is blank.
