how to change report layout to landscape?

I have report that needs to be printed in landscape layout. I also need to adjust width of some columns. I don't see any option to do that. Where can I find information on how to make report layout changes?
  • To print in landscape, you would use your browser settings to change the orientation after you click on the PRINT link.

You cannot adjust the column width like you might in Excel as the magic of Broswers auto adjusts to each individual user's screen size or the size paper they are printing to.

However, many field types have a setting to allow or not allow fields to wrap, for example you may not want to allow a date field to wrap to improve readability. The other trick is that if you have a column heading - either the field name itself or an override column heading with_no_spaces_in_it, then the column will not be be able wrap as the title of the column will not be wrapped.

Keep in mind if you make everything wide with these techniques, your print may fall off the right side of the page.
  • Hi Mark,

When using the "Print" command in the "More" menu, I do not get the option to change the layout of the page orientation; it always defaults to portrait.

However when using my browser's print command, I do get the option to change page orientation.  The issue is that when I use the browser's print command, the printout includes the QuickBase ribbon, which I'd rather not include.

    Am I missing something?

I should add that I'm printing a form that contains various embedded reports.

    Thanks in advance.
  • Hi, knowing that this post was last active 3 years ago, wondering if someone has a solution to this issue. I have the same requirement as Juan. When trying to print using QB "Print", page orientation is not available.....
  • I have always found that when I print from QuickBase I am always able to navigate to my printer properties and set the page to landscape.
  • QB More > Print

pops new browser window with print dialog to print the QB object you selected to print (as opposed to the browser page as in ctrl+shift+p from browser)

...clicking the 'More settings' dropdown shows more settings. Not sure if page orientation is among them. Clicking 'Print using system dialog' allows you to print using system dialog, accessing settings for standard Windows print job customization including page orientation.

I am using Chrome Version 72.0.3626.109 on Windows 7.
