Jira Count issue in Pipelines

I am using the function {{a|count}} to fill in a field through a pipeline.  Basically, I search for records meeting a certain criteria then fill in the value in another record.  It works great except when we get >100 then it doesn't work.  It fills in the value as blank.  I've had this happen on two separate pipelines.

Has anyone had this occur and how do you fix it?
