So, you are right, the lookup field doesn't do anything setup as in the screenshot above. I had to change it to a text-multiple choice using a list from another field, which is not searchable. Can I make it searchable? Or can I make copies of the reference proxy lookup field? I couldn't figure out a way to do that.
