Did you go to the relationship and create a lookup field for the Range Covered field to get that down to the child records?

Don't worry, i've figured it out. I went to the relationship between the tables, and added the 'date range covered' field as a lookup value. Then I updated my formula to show this field if the checkbox was checked.
It only took me a day! :-P
