Limit number of displayed rows
Hi All, I have a field that is a proxy to another table which is growing, is there a way I can restrict the size of the list in the dropdown to, lets say 5, or bring the "Create new record" button ...

The URL formula to pop up an add record form is
URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID table name goes here from advanced properties]
& " & ?act=API_GenAddRecordForm
If you want to return to the record that you launched off of then you would suffix that with & "&z=" & Rurl()
so it would be
URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID table name goes here from advanced properties]
& "?act=API_GenAddRecordForm"
& "&z=" & Rurl()
This is the same syntax you see auto generated for the Add child button on all relationships.

Actually I used a rich text formula field like this:
"<a id='addNewX' class='Vibrant Success' href='"&URLRoot()&"db/"&[_DBID_XS]&"?act=GenNewRecord"&"&z="&Rurl()&"' target='_blank'>Add new X</a>"
But now I want the ID of that record to be used in the original form, Is there a place where it was stored within the form?

- You can guess at the value by making a single record in a new table called Max Record ID of parent. It will be Record ID#1. Make a relationships to all parent records and then make a summary field of the Maximum RecordID#.
Then you can assume that the next Record ID# will be that +1, if there is not heavy concurrent use by other users in your app[.
