Relationship Diagram Tool

Hello All,

I see @Don Larson use entity relationship diagrams (ERD) often and I use them and find them extremely useful as well. I realized it would be a good idea to share the software that I use since it is easy to use, can be used to create SQL relational schema, and is free. Take a look at ERD Plus, it is cloud based and there is no need to download any software:

https://erdplus.com/

You can click the "TRY IT!" option in the ribbon and use the application with signing up, but signing up offers you the ability to save your ERDs in a folder in the cloud as well as translating ERDs into a SQL relational schema:

Cheers and Happy Building!

  • Adam,

Thanks for the reference and sharing a tool.   I find that a picture is worth a thousand words.  I learn much more from the ERD than a description and it reminds me of what we built and why.

I am using Gliffy for all my drawings.   I have hundreds stored in my account by customer.

However I will check out ERDPlus.  I am all for a new useful mouse trap.  Which begs the question when do we all get access to Cloudpipes? :)

I've always used draw.io when I needed to make a diagram. I like the ui and the large menu on the left with a ton of different icons to use. It can do a a lot of other things too and has some good templates to get you started on some of the charts if you want that.
