Searching on formatted phone number = no records found :-(
I recently received this question on one of my Quick Base Junkie YouTube videos...
"I'm using QB and for some reason when I search the database by phone I keep having to take out the dash & parenthesis in order for the search to work, which is very very time consuming. Do you know of a formula I can use to be able to search with all the elements so I don't have to backspace & take these items out in order to locate the client I'm searching for?"
I'm happy to provide a formula that strips out the formatting, but it seems to me this should be basic functionality when searching on a phone number.
Using the table search, global search, or advanced search all results in the same "no records found" unless the formatting is stripped out.
Any ideas here (beyond a formula that results in more fields to manage)? I'm thinking about the user experience when they don't have control over the app
