Side by Side Sections

A few weeks ago someone posted some instructions regarding using <table> tags to create side by side sections. They also posted a zoom link with instructions, which I followed successfully.

However, one thing does not work for me and I am wondering if anyone else ran into this, and is expected, or if I am doing something wrong.

If I choose to have the labels above the fields (versus to the left), my side by side sections do not work. In the video instructions it worked fine, so I am wondering if something changed or if I am doing something wrong. I have:

<table>
Section Heading
Fields
</table>
<table> (same row)
Section Heading
Fields
</table>

Works great but only with labels on left?
