You can put a hyperlink into a Slack message that the User can click which would post back to QB. It is an API call and not via the Pipeline.

I don't have a slack account to enable for testing, but the page here says that a new Slack message can be a trigger. So based on the documentation I think that indeed a slack message could start a pipeline.
