Table Relationship by day

I have a table where all employees have an overtime record for everyday of the year. I want to have a second table where I will have vacation requests for each employee. There will be just one request per day but not every day. When an employee overtime record is being looked at, I need to know if they have a vacation request for the one day in question. How would I set up that relationship?
