Update a field when a new record is added

Question

​I have an embedded table in which it works like this.&nbsp; When the button Add AR Action is clicked it will add a record to the embedded report, which is in a different table.&nbsp; The user will add new records each time a status changes on the invoice.&nbsp; I need the prior record to update with an end date when the new record is added.&nbsp; So user will select Add AR Action and then put their first record in with the start date.&nbsp; User will then add the next action, which will add a new record, but I need a field in the previous record (Action End Date) to update with whatever the Action Start Date is for the new record.&nbsp; Can anyone help?

Hi Amber!You've asked a fairly complicated question, but what you're describing is very possible.I have a video that may help that outlines the use of a summary field to get the record ID of the last child record to be used in an API button.
