viewing all child records when creating a child record from a parents record

Hi.  I have a parent table called cases and a child table called providers.  When they add a new provider to the case, they would like to see all the providers that are listed, choose one and have all related info about that provider auto populate.  A case has more than one provider. How to I set this up for when they go to add a provider from the child's table it lists all providers from the table?

  • You will need to have a middle or "join" table called like Case Providers.

That's is because it's a Many to many Relationship.

One Provider is used on Many Cases, but also One Case has many Providers.

So you create that middle table called Case Providers and make these relationships.

One Case has many Case providers.
One Provider has many Case Providers.
