Greatly appreciated! ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ QR Code to access record in QB AppI'd like to create a QR code that pulls up a record in the QB app on a tablet when scanned with the tablet's camera app. This QR code would be a field in my Packing List table. When the packing list is printed out by our office staff, the QR code will be printed as well. Our warehouse team would like to scan the QR code and be taken straight to the record of the packing list in the QB app on their tablet instead of looking for the record in the app. I've had some success generating QR codes but having trouble directing to a record. Here's my code for the QR code. "<img src=\"http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=120x120&chl="&[QR Code URL]&"\"alt=\"\"/>" where [QR Code URL] is 'https://cfkent.quickbase.com/db/bpc9xkysz?a=dr&rid=[Record ID#] ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Re: Notification Triggered by Child Record UpdateThat worked thank you again Mark! ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Re: Notification Triggered by Child Record UpdateHi Mark, Should the automation trigger be based on a change in the child or parent record? Also, how do I direct the automation to only edit the parent record and not all records that meet the same condition (# of child records = # of child records approved)? ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Re: Notification Triggered by Child Record UpdateHi Mark, I want to fire 1 notification when all the items have been approved, whether that's 1 or 10 at a time. Sometimes, the condition is satisfied when 1 date is entered. For example 4 of 5 items have been approved previously and the last one gets approved. Now all items are approved and the notification fires. I got this to work. But there are situations where maybe 2 of 5 drawings have already been approved. When the last 3 drawings get approved at the same time, the approval date is entered for all 3 items at the same that. At that time, I would like the same notification to fire. In this situation, it would be fine if there's 1 notification with a link to the items or project. ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Re: Notification Triggered by Child Record UpdateHi Mark, Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this and it only works when one item is updated. When multiple Approval Dates are filled in at once, it doesn't work. Do you know what that is or a way to resolve this? ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Notification Triggered by Child Record UpdateI have a Project Log (parent) and Items Table (child). The items table has an [Approval Date] field. I would like to trigger a notification at the Project level when all Items in that project have been approved. I created look up fields, [# of Items] and [# of Approved Items]. I want the notification to trigger when [# of Items] = [# of Approved Items] but it's not working. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Link to Report on FormI have an report of a child table that is embedded in the parent record form. The report can have a lot of records and it already has a lot of columns so it's difficult to look at the information. Is there a way to add a link that will display the report in it's own window? In the form settings, "Display just a link to the related items" will only show the default report. How do I show a different report that I've created? ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Re: Button to Create Record in Edit ModeHI Don, I'm trying to create a record in the same table from an existing record. The reason I want to do that is because we use the mobile interface to receive packages. Each packages gets a unique "Receiving Number". When I am done filling out the information for a received package and want to move onto the next new package, I want to click a button from the record I just finished to create a new record that displays the new "Receiving Number" (which is an auto-generated number based on record ID) but also display it in edit mode. Currently I have: URLRoot()&"db/"&Dbid() &"?act=API_Addrecord" & "&disprec=1" Right now, when I press the button, it will create a new record and show the new "Receiving Number" . I have to click edit to start editing. I'm just trying to save a step by displaying the record in edit mode. ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------ Button to Create Record in Edit ModeHello, I'm trying to create a formula URL button that creates a new record and displays it in edit mode. Is this possible? If so, what would the code be? ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------
