The only downside is recipients receive a forwarded email instead of the original but I agree I hate to use a paid seat just for a DG. I'll discuss with our Admins to see which direction we go. Thanks again for the suggestions! ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Re: Notifications to distribution groups (Outlook DGs)Thank you both for the insight. Our admin told me that the DG needs to be registered as a paid seat in QB and then added as an authorized app user. DGs are blocked from sending via outside source but by adding it as an authorized company QB "user" they can allow it. ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Re: Notifications to distribution groups (Outlook DGs)Thanks Mark. The DG is internal to the company but our company QB Administrators told me it requires some magic on the admin side to create a group from our master employee record so I can use it to send a notification. ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Notifications to distribution groups (Outlook DGs)Is there a way to enable a notification to email an Outlook DG? I have tried: creating an email formula field with the address using the open permissions making the email a user email field to send as a recipient Adding it directly as a specific user recipient email All these methods worked with an individual email but won't send to a DG. Does QB allow emails to DGs? Thanks for any assistance! Unfortunately our company doesn't subscribe to pipelines so I am not able to take advantage of that functionality. Appreciate the response! ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Multiple email addresses display in one notificationLooking to see if it's possible to have multiple addresses display in one notification. Currently when a notification is sent to more than one email address it sends individual notification to each user. Does QB allow for all addresses to be contained in one email, that way any of the recipients can see all others included in the notification and reply to all via email thread? I have also tried configuring the notifications so they are sent via outlook client but I have not been able to format the body of the email, even when I change the email text format to html. I have a customized notification which I would rather use if possible. Thanks for any insight! ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Re: Parse an email from multi select list for notificationThanks Blake! That solved it. I considered a separate email address table but decided to keep it simple, since at this point I don't foresee a need for it. This particular list has non-user and distribution groups included. All other application requirements are for users only. Thanks again! ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Re: Parse an email from multi select list for notificationThat didn't work. Might help if I explain that the email formula is unique to each email. ie., Trim(Part($EmailList, 1,";")) Trim(Part($EmailList, 2,";")), etc. corresponds to the [Email 1] [Email 2] in the notification. I have over 20 emails that a user can select from. Thanks! ------------------------------ Ed ------------------------------ Re: Parse an email from multi select list for notificationI am able to modify the multi-select field to add the names next to the emails, ie; (john smith - jsmith@qb.com). I just need to modify the email formula to parse the emails from the "-" (dash) so the notification will continue to identify the email only and correctly send. Thanks! ------------------------------ Ed Grandinetti ------------------------------ Parse an email from multi select list for notificationNeed help parsing email address for a multi-select list. I would like the list to display name along with the email. Current list display: jsmith@quickbase.com j.doe@anotheremail.com Desired list display: John Smith - jsmith@quickbase.com Jane Doe - j.doe@anotheremail.com My email field formula is: var text EmailList = ToText([Email select field test]); Trim(Part($EmailList, 1,";")) The formula works great for my notification emails but I'm stuck on parsing out the emails for the list to display. Thanks!
