If someone saves and closes while in another tab, the pop up message does say what tab and what field is missing and then highlights the tab in red (see below). But, when the user clicks OK, they are still on the tab they were in when they clicked save and close. Is there a way to redirect the user to the tab with the missing field information instead of just highlighting it? ------------------------------ Jamie Owens Knight ------------------------------ Re: Copy Master Detail Loop ErrorI discovered the issue ... there was a duplicate report link field and the report link field ID# was in the formula field along with the original report link field ID#. It read like this: "javascript:void(copyMasterDetailButtonHandler('&relfids=35, 218&recurse=false&sourceRID=780&destride=" & [Record ID#] & " ', 'bp9hebj9r'))" The 35 and 218 were what was causing the loop error. I deleted 218 as a field (the duplicate report link field) and received an error that the field with id 218 isn't a report link so I instantly knew that was the issue. I then removed the 218 from the formula and the button worked again! ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ Copy Master Detail Loop ErrorI'm getting the Copy Master Detail does not allow looping relationships error when attempting to use it. I have an app that has audits and audit findings (an audit has many audit findings) and I'm importing the audit findings (essentially these are the questions). I have several of these buttons that show and import certain questions based on the answer to what class is being audited. For example, if GSC class is chosen in the Class drop down, the Import GSC Questions button appears. There is not a looped relationship and this error is only occurring on one class; all my other classes import just fine. Why would I be getting this error on this button/class only? The field properties are exactly the same as any other import button. Below is the formula that was generated when I created the button: ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ Re: Monthly Sample SizesThis worked great - thank you! ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ Re: Monthly Sample SizesNo, the sample size varies by month. ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ Monthly Sample Sizes I have an app for tracking audits on classes and this year, they want to add a sample size for each class for each month. Sample sizes range from 5 to 20. Currently, I have a Class Catalog table in the app with the following fields: Quarterly sample size field that is a numeric, user-entered field. # of completed audits that is a look up summary field from the audits table based on the class has many audits relationship. Also, a # of audits completed this quarter field, with the filter of the date of the audit being in the current quarter. Percent complete fields that are formula fields based on the sample fields and the # of completed audit fields. They want to change these quarterly samples to monthly sample sizes. I can change the # of completed audits this quarter to this month by changing the filter, but I'm trying to think of a way to update the monthly sample size dynamically. We've been manually updating the quarterly sample size since it was only four times a year, but going in every month on the first seems excessive and unrealistic in the long term. I'd like to set this up more dynamically, but I'm not sure how. No one goes in and edits these class records, or at least, no one does on a regular basis, so I can't use a "when data changes" automation or form rule. I thought about having 12 fields; one for each month, but it would be nice if only the current month's sample size showed up on the form. But I'd still have to update the formula field to divide by the new month's sample size. I also thought about doing an automation on a schedule but can't figure out how to modify the fields I need. Lastly, I thought about creating a sample size table and creating the automation from there, but can't get my head wrapped around how to do that either. Do you all have any ideas on how to make this work without having to manually update the app every month? ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ If Statement using Multi Select FieldsI have a tasks table where a user can pick a task from the task library (another table) and a library role field populates. However, they are also able to enter a new task with a new role. I've created a formula text field called Task Role to show the Library role or the new role, whichever is populated. But both fields are multi-select and it's giving me an error. Here is what I have for the the formula: List (",", If(Contains([Library - Role],""),[Select Task Role(s)]),[Library - Role]) Error is on the Select Task Role(s) field ... says expecting text but found text list. ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ Re: Project Management: Task BranchingIt doesn't appear to be populating the related task in the tasks library table. Our automation goes as follows: When a user modifies a record in the projects table and "overnight stay" is changed to yes, Add a record in the tasks table populating a record ID match field with the record id of the project, the question identifier with the question answered (typed value), and related library of the task library record id # (typed value). Copy records from the Task Library table to the task table where record id #is equal to the task library record id #, and populate task name with the task field from the task library. Modify records in task table where related project is equal to record ID of projects table and related project copies from project name. ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------ Project Management: Task BranchingHi there, We're currently building a project management/project portfolio app and are having trouble with the tasks relationship. We have a Projects Table, a Task Table, Task Library Table and a Phases Table. The relationships are as follows: A Project has many Tasks, a Task Library has many Tasks, a Project has many Phases, a Task Library has many Phases. In the Projects Table, we have tabs for each phase of the project. Then we have fields that are posed as yes or no questions to the user in each phase. If a user answers a certain way to a question, we need a task from the task library to generate and appear in the tasks on the appropriate phase of the Projects Table. For example, if the question "Will an overnight stay be required?" in the Discovery phase is answered as "yes", then we want the task "Book hotels" from the task library to appear as a task to complete in the Logistics phase. We have filtered task reports in each phase, as well. We've tried an automation to create the task, which it does, but we can't get it to relate and show up in the project. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Jamie Owens-Knight ------------------------------
