ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Pipeline - Bulk Upsert - Continuous Loop Right now the query is Equipment Count equals {{a.rack_circuit_count_case_linueps}}. In this instance, the count was 8. In my Equipment Count table, I have 8 records with an equipment count of 8. I am assuming the logic is it finds 8 equipment records with 8 and enters 8 new records and stops. The only field in the count table is the Equipment Count field which is setup with one record with 1, two records with 2, and so on up to 16. ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Re: Pipeline - Bulk Upsert - Continuous Loop I think the major issue is the Prepare Bulk Record Upsert. The merge field option is only the RID. Since I am not updating but rather adding records to the same table, there is no RID. The little statement below the field says if no RID is found, it will just add the records. Somewhere along the way, it is losing the count and just continues to add records. Before I caught what it was doing and turned off the pipeline, it had added almost 10,000 new records instead of the 8 I had put in the count ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Re: Pipeline - Bulk Upsert - Continuous Loop That is a manual entry field, which I feel if I set it to the max that I think it would ever be, it will still loop and put that many records in even though my actual count is lower. ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Pipeline - Bulk Upsert - Continuous Loop I have a pipeline setup to insert new records into the same table base on a count entered into a previously created record. The issue I am having is a continuous loop of entering new records Here is what I have New record created with a count in a field Count is Set Asset Definition equals the asset type being setup The count should create that number of new records in the same table The pipeline is as follows Record Created Prepare Bulk Record Upset Search Records This search is being performed on a helper table that has one field in it for equipment count (i.e, one record with 1, 2 records with 2, 3 records with 3 and so on For each record DO - Add a Bulk Upsert Row Commit Upsert All assets are being entered into the same table with asset types and asset definitions. Any subsequent equipment that is being added is basically tied to the parent asset with a Unit ID # Looking for what I am missing here that is causing the loop ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Re: Issue with Quickbase connection in power bi service My experience with Power BI is successful, but I am using an ODBC connector. I am not sure that there is a way to directly connect and refresh without that connector. If you are doing this directly from your computer, the connector will be installed on your computer. If you are going to put this on a server and want your data to refresh automatically, you will need to install the ODBC driver on the server. As far as an auto-refresh, you will need an on-premises gateway installed on your computer or a shared gateway on the server and point your file to that refresh. The refresh will not happen if this is on your computer and your computer is off. Through the gateway refresh, you can set it up to refresh 8 times per day. Once the driver is installed, from within Power BI, you will select Get Data > More > Other > ODBC. You will still use a user token and add the apps to that Here is a link to the ODBC driver https://www.qunect.com/appnotes.html If you follow the directions and have permission to make a change to the ODBC System DNS, then you will see all of your tables and the reports that you have under them. If you are locked down like I am, and you cannot modify the System DNS, then you can use an SQL select statement and the table/report ID to pull in a specific report. I typically set up a report with the info on it that I need for a dashboard. In my case, I created a whole other Power BI app, and did a table-to-table import from five other apps into a single table in my KPI app to get all of the data that I need. ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Link to child records not a table of a parent I have the need to create a count of child records that are not a direct child of a parent table. in this situation I have a Parent table has Child 1, but has two tables under Child 1 that are not directly associated to the first Parent. I can do a summary total of those records and look them all the way back up to the Parent. The issue is the count is correct but when you click on the number to see the records, it pulls the count and records of the first Parent/Child relationship. ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Re: Mobile - No Option To Add New Thanks Mark, that was kind of what I was thinking, and see no other way around this. Native mobile is not exactly user-friendly. ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Mobile - No Option To Add New I am working on a mobile version of an app and have run into an issue with tables and not having the option to add new. I have a table (Refrigerants) and three other tables setup as Refrigerants have many racks, many cases and many coils. When I am adding a new record in any of these tables and select the refrigerant dropdown, I see no option to add new. Is this a limitation of mobile or do I need to setup these fields a different way. ------------------------------ Zint Joseph ------------------------------ Re: Pipelines | Dropbox & Webhooks assist.Thank you so much....that was what I needed. Everything is working. I just need to refine the process to create a folder, place the file there, and update the existing file if there are changes in QB. This is not a process that is going to run very much. I just need an option to place large files that cannot be emailed into DropBox and send a link in a notification for them to download. This is my first pipeline, so pretty stoked that it works. I have done some Microsoft Flows with QuickBase and this is very similar. ------------------------------ Joey Zint ------------------------------ Dropbox | Pipelines Connection IssueI am in the process of setting up one process to save a single file type to Dropbox. I have the pipeline set up and working to send the file to Dropbox but need to create a shared link and bring that back to the QB record. I have done the JSON fetch to work if I use the actual file name but if I drag the name filed to the process I get an error message that "Remote service reported an error: Error in call to API function "sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings": request body: could not decode input as JSON". So using the actual file name in the request body works but need this to work off the field name from Dropbox. The second struggle is similar, when trying to iterate the repost and trying to use the field name so that I can pull it back to QB, the same trouble and similar error. I am looking for a different formula in the pipeline to pull the field information. When I run this through a tool for the Dropbox API, i get the same similar error, so it comes down to how to format the field which is my struggle at this point. ------------------------------ Joey Zint ------------------------------
