QuickBase Sync: You don't have permission to import data into a restricted field.
I am using Quick Base Sync on one of my tables (Contracts) and it recently started displaying this error:The error was: You don't have permission to import data into a restricted field. It's a Quick Base Sync SFTP. The SFTP credentials appear to be okay when testing it.I checked the permissions of each individual field and of the table and there aren't any restrictions that I'm aware of. I have one role "Everyone on the Internet", that I thought might be an issue, but even that has full access to this table. The Quick Base Sync history provides a link to their common errors, but this one is not listed. I wasn't sure if anyone encountered this particular error and where else to look in the settings. ------------------------------ Quincy Adam ------------------------------10Views0likes1CommentSync Vs Relationships
There is a great blog here about the pros and cons of Cross App relationships, vs sync, vs table imports. Sharing Data Across Quick Base Apps: Part 1 Cross App Relationships, Table to Table Imports, and Sync I am aware that you want to avoid having 15 apps, somehow all intertwined with cross app relationships. I am trying to better understand the why. It seems that cross app relationships will create dependencies, so that all apps basically travel together and are forced to be run by a single QB server. Is that basically the explanation? For example, if I have 4 apps intertwined with cross app relationships, and then a 5th app has a single cross app relationship with one of those 4 apps, did I just lock that 5th app in with the rest of those? Not sure if someone is able to give a brief explanations in mildly technical and mildly layman's terms? ------------------------------ Michael Tamoush ------------------------------8Views0likes5CommentsDashboard Widget Page (manually refresh a connected table)
I have a URL field ("javascript:$.post('https://myrealm.quickbase.com/qb/sync/refreshTasks?replicationID=xxxxx')") to manually refresh a connected table, but I am trying to set a code page that allows me to do the same in dashboards, however, I don't know how to build the page code, is anybody has that syntaxis page code to share with me, or help me to set that much appreciate that. Has anyone implemented SSO with QuickBase? I want to know how it would work, when quickbase doesn't need you to enter a password anymore. What password would you use? How do you integrate with QuNect, which needs a password? How do you run the API_Authenticate API Call in custom scripts? If you opened a quickbase link from your email outside of your work environment, what would happen?6Views1like1CommentAutomate Table CSV Export To SFTP Location
I am looking for a solution where I can export a table in a CSV format in some type of frequency (e.g. every 24 hours, or after x action takes place). What I'm trying to achieve is basically the same as Quickbase Sync, but exporting a file to a specified location rather than importing a file from a location. I can write an API to download the file locally, but it would be preferred if there's an option of doing the above without any manual intervention.5Views1like3CommentsMapping Connected Table Records to Related Table
Greetings, I have a connected table in my app that pulls customer records including address data from an internal system. My app needs to map sales rep territories which are defined by state to the customers. The Customers table is related to the States table which is related to the Territories table which is related to the Sales Rep table. I cannot figure out how to set the Related State field on the Customer's table when those records are added or updated as part of the bulk update process. Connected data includes a text field with State name. Those names match the name in the states table but I can't figure out how to map them via automation. Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated. ------------------------------ Rick Putnam ------------------------------Solved4Views0likes2CommentsHow can I update a connected field whose column name changes in the connected CSV?
We recently had to make a change to the CSV file that is used in a connected table via Quickbase Sync. This column name change immediately caused the sync to fail on the next interval, which makes sense. I expected there to be a way to go to the connected field in Quickbase (that was now orphaned), and "re-link" it to the newly renamed field in the CSV. However, there only appeared to be the option to delete my orphaned connected field, and add the "new" renamed field. In this situation that wasn't too big of a deal, but if that field had a long list in the "usage" tab (reports, calculated fields, relationships, etc) it would have been very tricky. Is there not a way to re-link a broken connection to a field?3Views1like3CommentsCapturing Sync error history
