Access Issues
I have a 1 app - and 1 table. there are 5 users all the users have access to all the fields on the form on the table to view or edit the fields in the own record. So permission is view and modify all fields. and record level restriction is where owner is the logged in user. There is record level resctriction so user 1 cannot see user 2 records. i want to make a report where all the users can view all the records 5 particular fields. but cant view or modify the record of other users. However i want to create a visibility report to show all records from today to all the users but only a few limited fields. I have created the report, disable view and edit to the records and given all records access to the user. But the problem is if the user 1 will do advance search randomly, they can view all records from default search results. If I restrict that then no user will be able to open the records from the search which will be a blocker. how do i get past this ? if i restrict field level then they wont be able to enter or modify their own records as well. so cant do that. how to achieve this?Solved49Views0likes9Commentsexpose the User ID in a report
Jim! ToText(UserToId( [QB Username])) Is anyone using a QB Formula field to display the user id to users in a report? The User Id looks like this "51817980.d2k9" (I changed this to something madeup, apologies if its your id.) I have the admin console connected table and can sync the used id value to any app I want, which is my backup plan. Before I make that change I am checking to see if there is something I missed. Use case: We have users added to an App via a default role in a Group provisioned via SCIM. Some users may need to have an elevated Role other than the default Role. Currently the elevation is indicated by app data managers checking a box on a record. The check box indicates these users require an elevated role change. When users requiring access to the elevated role are indicated, someone has to compare the record in the table and the role in the users table and align or normalize the values ~ that someone also has to be knowledgeable about the process. I have found several Give Feedback where we have asked for the Role and linked them all together in hopes of clarity. If this is something you want too open Give Feedback and search for Role.Solved11Views0likes1CommentIs there a way to "Pause" an app
We intercompany charges for Quickbase app usage and I have been asked if there is a way to suspend or pause an app while this intercompany charge is resolved. This app has like 225 users and about 50 roles. I really don't want to go user by user or even by role. I totally do not want to delete the app. Any ideas would be appreciated.Solved32Views0likes2CommentsAudit Log - QB Internal
Hey all! I had a user point out that she had a log in date on a day she was on PTO, she definitely DID NOT log in that. So I started in the audit logs and found 152 users that had been logged into that day, under QB Internal. Does anybody know what this is? I color coded the users, some were logged into back to back.41Views0likes1CommentReporting/managing users for realm
We have 300+ client orgs with multiple users of our QB realm per org and need to ensure only authorized users access the system. We know that across our 3000+ users, there are some who are no longer with their organizations but yet still have access since the password is managed by QB. In the long term we're going to be moving to using Okta and integrating with our partner org IDPs. But for now I want to know if there is a way to use the QB API to download reports of users automatically and send those out to the client orgs on a periodic basis so that old users can be removed. Maybe starting with this call: https://developer.quickbase.com/operation/getUsers And then iterating. Is this feasible? Any other ideas for managing users from so many different external orgs?25Views0likes1CommentAudi Log TIME (ISO-8601) Conversion
Wondering if anyone has done the work to convert the Quickbase Audit Log Timestamp to local time? I export the logs via CSV and then am working towards a process to convert the "2024-10-28T15:53:25.956Z" timestamp to PST. I'm seeing it as a multistep process involving text to columns and then math. If you have a simpler solution, I would appreciate hearing how its done. Thanks,Solved43Views0likes2CommentsApp Archive Strategies
Does anyone have a way that they save/archive their app structure/build before deleting an app? I'm doing some clean-up in our realm, and we have a bunch of old, unused apps. I want to archive/delete them, but I'm thinking of the off chance someone comes back and says "remember that app we had? can we get something like that again?". I'm thinking I could use the new solutions APIs to get the QBL exported, but that doesn't support reports, forms, pipelines, etc. yet. Just curious what others' app archive strategies are!72Views0likes4CommentsDuplicate a Record
Hello, My user wants to duplicate a record, I see the option to duplicate a record on my end as an Admin, but that option is not available to my user. I'm trying to look into the role settings but do not see anything that prevents the user from duplicating a record. Am I looking in the wrong place?62Views0likes1CommentSeeking interim quickbase support
Hello, I'm new here so please let me know if this is not an appropriate use of these discussions. The quickbase data coordinator is resigning from my company, and I am wondering if there are any resources for hiring temporary talent until the position can be replaced internally.
