Changing Key fields

I had to change the key field in a parent table (Customers).  I first made sure the new field was a copy of the record ID (for now) and then changed the Key field.  QB gave me a bunch of warnings before I did it, but I practiced in a copy of the app first.  Afterwards, all of the links worked, but where before I could select a new customer for a project from a reference field (customer name) now it says that field can not be edited.  I can work around this by changing the Customer Name field to the Related Customer and proxying the Customer name, but I would rather like to fix the relationship, if possible.

    You should be able to go to the relationship and edit the reference field (the field at the top right) and set a "Proxy" for that field to be the customer name field.  Then make sure the Customer name field is on the form and the reference field perhaps called [Related Customer] is not on the form.
