If you are using the Test as a User feature; and get no data visible in the field; there's a permissions issue for the data derived by that User or User's Role. Check that the source-fields are visible to that User's Role. If they can see the field/column in the report then the issue isn't whether they can see the field itself; it's the derived output. Remember also when you are logged in and the criteria is "User Field"="Current User" - YOU are the current User; so the output you see might be different to the output someone else sees depending on permissions of source data or formula criteria. Make sure to test "as the User" to see the output for someone else, even if the report criteria is "User Field" = Current User; or if it is a role-based issue; setup a separate login and assign your other login to the same Role and see what results you get in the report.
