Custom Save a New Record Button

Any QB ideas on a single button on a new unsaved parent record that:
1.  Saves record.
2. Check's a checkbox in same parent record.
3. Saves parent record again which triggers (checkbox change above) an automation that adds records to a child table.
4. Returns to Display Parent Record and resulting child records in an embedded report.

    This turned out to be dumb question. I just copied the automation but changed it to fire when the user adds a record. Checkbox trigger automation remains for edited parent records.
