Is there an easy way to adjust all predecessors if you add a new task?
I am importing Tasks into a Schedule using the Copy and Master Detail button. Included in the imported tasks are predecessors. This works fine. However, periodically we find a new task needs to be added and predecessors may need to be adjusted to accommodate that new task.
So say I have record ID# 100 (Task 1), ID# 101 (Task 2), ID# 102 (Task 3), and so on (I have over 100 tasks). Each includes a predecessor. But I need to add a task half way through the project and that new task may be record ID# 500 (Task 8) with a predecessor of Task 2 and several other records with predecessor of Task 2 now need to change to predecessor Task 3 and consequently all other sequential records with a former predecessor of Task 2 need to be updated. Do I have to go through each task and update them manually based on the record ID? Or is there an easier way to do this, or another option rather than using predecessors?
Thanks.
