Migrating to New Grid Edit
In Role settings you can hide multi-record options, which hides grid edit button and the delete checkboxes.
I think this is enough to deter most people, but believe it is just a visual effect and the ability is technically still there. So you can go further and in table settings disable grid edit on a per role basis.
With the new grid report, there is also a per report/per form option to disable editing, but the above options will be better if you need to disable for an entire role. So consider your specific needs and use case.
As for training, I usually start by telling users it's similar to Excel, even though it isn’t a perfect comparison. It helps reduce apprehension when they’re first getting started. Unfortunately, while there is good Quickbase training out there, up‑to‑date material isn’t always easy to find. I’ve mostly instructed users by demonstrating and teaching myself. You can share links to Quickbase University or documentation, but for most end users, that’s often more than they need for what’s intended to be a simpler process than what they’re used to.
