Notifications Per Second

Question

We have users who work out of grid edit. They want to be able to trigger 1 to 3 email notifications per record and send them when they save in the grid edit. The notification trigger works for the first record, but does not send the emails for the remaining emails. Is this functionality possible in Quick Base? The only limitation I was able to find was the limit on the number of emails per day.

If When you build notification so you will see that there are two tabs. One is the set up for the single record notification and the other is the set up for the multi record notification. I believe that in Grid Edit the updates are considered a multi record notification even if only one record is modified. I can't be 100% sure of that but certainly if even if two records were changed that would be a multi record notification.

So the first thing to check would be whether or not your notification is sent to fire on single or multi or both type of notifications.

There are some limitations on the multi-record notification, specifically because a single notification will fire with a link to all changed records then obviously it cannot list the individual information from each record.

So when you build the multi record notification you need to include the special marker which will provide the user with a link to all the changed records. I didn't create these notifications, when I looked at them they appear to have information in both the single record and multiple record tabs but the single record tab was the one showing. I'll try testing again with the multiple tab active.

There is no concept of a tab being active.

The two tabs just allow you to access the two configurations. You should put in some configuration for the multi record notification especially including that special marker which will give the user a link to all the changed records. There is a drop-down box near the body of the email that has a list of all the markers.

I found the issue in the QB Documentation, when multiple records are updated, one notification email is sent with all of the data rather than individual emails for each record, which is the desired functionality in this case.------------------------------Paul Peterson------------------------------
