Role view report link contents from table it cannot access

Is it possible for a role to view the contents of a report link or lookup field where the parent report is in a table they do not have access to? I am making a role for a subcontractor to access maintenance tickets, these tickets would reference information from other tables I want the subcontractor to have access to without giving access to a whole new table.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

    I wound up answering my own question! 

    Needed to allow access to the specific fields in the role management area titled "Table access." I just made custom access to the specific fields I wanted them to see pulled over, then the references worked just fine.
