Rule based on values in embedded report

Greetings,

Hoping someone can help.  My current setup is as such:
Parent table (one) is linked to child table (many), and renders on a form in the Parent Table in the fashion of an embedded report with 3 columns (first column is multiple choice text, 3rd column is text). Parent table is where the entry will take place.
I would like to require/unrequire (or unhide/hide) column 3 dynamically upon selection based on value selected in column 1 (show if "Other" is selected, hide if other value selected.

Any suggestions on the best way to accomplish this?

    You will not be able to do that.  The concept of having say 10 child lines and somehow on line 5 not to have a "column" for just one of the 5 lines does not really make sense from a UI point of view.

    But the data entry in the child records will calculate dynamically, which does mean that you can have a column at the right side of the embedded report to calculate an error message and also if you really want to prevent the save for bad data, you can enable "Custom data rules" in the Advanced settings for that table.
