We recently built a new main form for table B using report builder. Now, clicking on report links in table do not take us to the matching record in table B. Instead, a filtered report with only the record from table B is generated. This creates a needless extra step. Is it no longer possible to use report links to jump between records? The extra report step is not needed for direct matches. The report links are for unique fields - Record ID#. I have tried creating new report link fields and the issue persists. Has anyone found a workaround for this issue? Thanks ------------------------------ Kaisa Janzen ------------------------------ Form Builder Results in Rich Text Fields with Displayed HTML Hello. I'm trying to rebuild a form using the new form builder. The look and feel of the forms built with the form builder are larger and easier to see for some of our employees. Unfortunately, I have run into an issue with the display of our rich text (reference proxy) fields when these fields are added using the form builder. These forms will only display with their HTML showing. This was not the case with our old forms. I've attached screen captures of the fields from our new form built with the form builder and our old form to demonstrate our issue. The visual clutter of HTML tags appearing with our data will be a deal breaker for updating this form. Has anyone found any workaround for this issue? Any input is welcomed. This information eventually lead me to the solution for creating a functional edit/view log for our database users.Method of Converting OBE32 Record ID's into Decimal IntegersAfter recently following Dan Diebolt's exciting Service Worker Travel Log, I am eager to exploit the many cool things they do. However, I am stuck with a problem that I can't seem to work around. when creating a link to a specific record, QB will allow users to do create a link using integers, e.g. jamestkirk.quickbase.com/bgnc1701q?a=er&rid=2001 however, when I'm editing, viewing etc (I understand this URL changes based on function), QB will give me (what I think) is an OBE32 link. So the link looks like link:jamestkirk.quickbase.com/bgnc1701q?a=er&r=gqj&rl=ftf Is there a way to convert the OBE32 into the integer? I'm asking because I know service workers will allow me to log the URL's a QB user visits. The logs show the OBE URL. QB wil create an integer URL for me, but these two cannot match up. This ability to keep track of users in QB is big fat deal for me (click resistant employees) but I'm trying to figure out a way to link my list of URL's visited to the actual records so I can keep track of who viewed them. Any ideas are very appreciated. Thank you. Re: If formula that can display value from one of two fields depending on the contents of the fieldsIt was an email field. This formula works perfectly! Thank you!If formula that can display value from one of two fields depending on the contents of the fieldsI'm attempting to write a formula that seems like it should be simple, but I cannot get it to work. In Field C (text formula field), I need a formula that I presume will use an If statement. If Field A contains "xxx@xxxx.com", display contents of Field B Otherwise/Else show contents of field A in field C. (the "xxx@xxx.com" email address trigger will always be the same email address.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Re: Formula to determine if report link found a a matchTableA is a connected table synced with Gmail. Most of the email addresses are harvested from the body via the very helpful formula you authored here:https://community.quickbase.com/quickbase/topics/formula-help-with-truncating-text The report link plays very nicely with this formula field. Some of our submissions do come directly from the sender, in which case using the from address as the key field would be terrific. However, because a significantportion of our emails are forwarded via a third party, even though they are set up to display "useremail@xxx.xxx", the sender is actually "formmailer@xxx.com" and QB syncs the sender or "from" field as the same. Using the formula you created, I can still glean the requisite email address, but I'm afraid the from address would contain several repeated instances of "formmailer@xxx.com".Formula to determine if report link found a a matchAfter searching the available QB formulas and relationship uses, I'm not entirely sure this can be done. It seems like a simple goal, but I cannot figure it out. I need a way to determine if an email address in table A matches an email address in table B. The Report Link field does this with relatively little hassle inside of a form. However, I need a report that lists the clients in table A who do and do not have a matching email in table B. The table/grid edit report just lists the report link field as the "value to match" from table A. . Is there a formula I could write (or any mechanism I could use) to determine if a report link found a match? I've been using the report link because I need this to function automatically and not be dependent on user selection via a dropdown menu. I think this precludes the use of relationships (based on my admittedly limited understanding). If there is a way to get relationships to automatically do this, it would be wonderful.Re: formula help with truncating textThank you so much!!! This works perfectly. You're amazing.formula help with truncating textI am looking for help with yet another formula that can be used to truncate the text of a text field. I've tried the right/left and trim, but my results are never consistent. The original field is a synced body field from a table connected to Gmail. Because these emails come from a third party service, the "from" field or email address does not accurately reflect the client email address which is contained in the email body. E.G. - the body field always returns the following: FIRST NAME xxxx Last Name xxx Phone (get help now!) ########## Emailxxx@xxxx.com Your Message xxx. I need the formula to return only: xxx@xxxx.com Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
