I am importing data from one table to another. I have a few fields of information with moderate value, enough that I don't want to simply lose them, but not enough to need as individual fields.I created a rich text formula field to merge the data. I want the form to display it as a list, with one label and field then a line break resulting in a next row. I thought the below formula could make that happen, but it just concatenates into a continuous line. What's wrong with this formula?List("\n","Previous ESM ",[ESM]," Previous PM "&[PM]," Previous Account Mgr. "&[Account Manager]," Previous Project Code "&[Project Code]," Previous Project ID "&[Project_ID]," Practice "&[Practice]------------------------------Wade Myers------------------------------

If( [Activity Type Code] = "4" and [Analysis Status] = "Complete", 120*[Actual Modeling Hours Required], [Analysis Status]="Complete" and not IsNull([Construction ROM / Scope Estimate]), [Construction ROM / Scope Estimate], [Analysis Status]="Complete" and ([Cost/UoM]*[Capacity Regain])>0, ([Cost/UoM]*[Capacity Regain]), [Analysis Status]="Complete" and [Complexity Code]="1", 500, [Analysis Status]="Complete" and [Complexity Code]="2", 1000, 2000) For some reason, the code does not reach the 4th line, i.e. it doesn't display the result ([Cost/UoM]*[Capacity Regain]). Instead it displays 0. But if I comment out the 3rd line which has the "not isNull" function, the code evaluates all the lines correctly. The 3rd line works but for some reason the code doesn't get past the 3rd line.Thoughts? Anything else I could try?------------------------------Asish Mathew------------------------------

Hello, I am trying to use a home page button that will add a new record and then open it in edit mode. How can this be done? https://domainname.quickbase.com/db/brchmnxk7?a=API_AddRecord&rdr=https://domainname.quickbase.com.com/db/ brchmnxk7?a=erI realize this is an incorrect url but it does perform the action of adding the record - and then it takes me to the document tree: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. <qdbapi> <action>API_AddRecord</action> <errcode>0</errcode> <errtext>No error</errtext> <rid>52</rid> <update_id>1620163249201</update_id> </qdbapi> Any suggestions?------------------------------nancy nancy------------------------------

I have a report which basically has only two columns, a name and a date.  I want to color-code the rows which have a date in the current week .... however I want the 'current week' to start on Tuesday instead of Sunday.  I know I can change the default starting day of the week in the app settings but I actually want the default to stay the same and only this report should have Tuesday as the starting day of the week. This is what I currently have which highlights the current week:If(FirstDayOfWeek([Date]) = FirstDayOfWeek(Today()), "#FFFF00")Anyone know how to modify this so it color-codes the week based on a Tuesday start day?  Thanks.------------------------------William William------------------------------

Hi.I am trying to pull all the invoices that have no date in the Date Delivered field. I tried this formula and it would not work.  IsNull([Date Delievered]) The filter condition did not work as it would not allow me to select blank if select "Is Not Equal TO"Thank you.------------------------------CMS ITOperations------------------------------

I have been working with QB tech support to no avail on this one.  I have created a pipeline to create a series of nested folders on Box.com.  The list of folders to create has grown to over 30 in number.  This is a problem since the maximum number of steps a pipeline can have is 30.  So the only viable workaround that has been suggested so far is to call a second pipeline at the end of the first pipeline, and finish my routine in the second pipeline. In theory that would work, except that QB tech support now tells me there is no way for me to pass the record ID of the target QB record to the second pipeline, even though the (extremely limited) instruction that accompanies the "Call Another Pipeline" function clearly states you can pass arguments.  If you can't pass something as fundamental as a record ID as an argument to the second pipeline, how can it perform any sort of targeted action? Any if the arguments won't allow for passing a QB record ID, what

In regard to the recent announcement about upcoming changes to JavaScript I have been looking into alternatives. I use JavaScript to solve 4 different problems where I couldn't find a solution elsewhere at the time. It's been several years since these were implemented but hopefully things have evolved or changed so that now I can replace them with something native, or with something that will be supported in the future. To keep my first post on this as short as possible I'll just start with 1 of my uses. The first JavaScript I implemented was put in place to remove carriage returns from a Notes field contained on our employee Timesheet entry form. The Timesheets are exported weekly and that export file is used to import to our accountants. If that file has a carriage return in the Notes field it would not import successfully into the accountants system. Before implementing the JavaScript for this our internal admin was manually scrubbing the Notes field before importing to the accountant

I"m trying to complete a formula checkbox field that will tell me if my duration is 1 day or less on a record.Duration is a formula duration field that calculates the date a task is completed - the date it was received and excludes weekdays.ToWeekdayN(ToDate([Date Initial Review Complete]))-ToWeekdayN(ToDate([Date Created]))The value display of the field is set to DaysI'm trying to use a formula checkbox field to determine if the record was completed in 1 day or less.  It will calculate correctly using 0 days but does not check if the record was done in 1 day.Can anyone advise of the right formula to use? Thanks,   ------------------------------Sheila Allas------------------------------

I came across a strange issue I am not sure how to correct or even if it needs correction.I have two tables: Work Orders Contacts I have multiple relationships (x8) setup between the Work Orders & Contacts table. Contacts < Work Orders In each relationship, I have the same 4 fields in the Child Table. Each field starts as: Related Contact# - Contact ABCXYZ.Example: Related Contact7 - Contact NameIn my first relationship, the fields were labeled as: Related Contact - Contact Name I had to remove the 4 fields from the first Relationship to test something, and then re-add them. However, upon re-adding them, they no longer have the "Related Contact - " in the field names. Now they only show as: Contact Name Contact Type etc. I have tried to remove them and re-add them, but no matter what, they always show up without the "Related Contact".I tested it with the other relationships, and those show as "Related Contact# - " in the field name.Is there an issue with the field names lac

Hello all,This may be a simple solution for some of you but I can't work out how to do it - Hoping someone can help :)I have two forms on my app for consultants to use when recording the work they have done for clients; one for when it's for a paid client (billable work) and the other where it's work carried out for prospective clients (and not billable at that time - the form has less questions etc). I want a checkbox on the Prospects form to be auto-ticked so that I can highlight all of those submissions in my reporting elsewhere in the app. What's the best way to have this setup? Thanks in advance!

Can anyone give any reasons why Pipelines is better/different than Zapier or other similar IFTTT services?    I had set up a bunch of automations in pipelines but found the number of steps provided to be insufficient.   When I contacted our account manager to inquire about increasing our monthly allotment of steps, I learned that they can only be purchased in one-time 'chunks' of 10k steps for a price that is about 20x the price per 'task' on zapier.  I can't see any reason to pay so much more for what is the same functionality as zapier, and I've already started migrating the pipelines I built to Zapier.   I wanted to keep pipelines just because I find it convenient to have it as a part of quickbase and the interface is different than zapier, but the pricing model is extremely prohibitive.Does anyone else have any experience with pipelines vs other services?------------------------------Jeff Peterson------------------------------

I have what I'd have expected to be a simple need: to get the # of records matching a saved query that requires one "ask the user" parameter. It seems that API_DoQueryCount when using a saved query (qid=) doesn't work with report parameters (nv=1, v0="foo"); I get <numMatches>0</numMatches> every time, even though the API_DoQuery invocation with the same parameters returns records. If true, it's a real head-scratcher of an API limitation. The documentation is vague (doesn't even make clear that qid is a supported parameter for API_DoQueryCount, though it works for qids with no parameters required). Is there an alternative way to do what I need to do, since it seems the intuitively obvious one isn't implemented?------------------------------Shane Davis------------------------------

Is it possible to add a redirect to an alternative API URL? So instead of it showing the response xml page you can redirect to another URL.https://target_domain/db/target_dbid?a=API_AddRecord&_fnm_second_year=1776&_fid_8=changed&ticket=auth_ticket&apptoken=app_token&rdr=quickbase.com#redirect #api #api_addrecord ------------------------------C G------------------------------

I'm building a Project database with a project table that includes the Customer information by default. We need a worksite address in addition to the Contact's address. I plan to add the address fields under a separate header on the form and make it a manual entry process; however, I would like to add a check box that works like one you see on Amazon where if you populate the checkbox it makes the shipping and billing address the same. How would you achieve that?------------------------------Wade Myers------------------------------

Greetings,I have a connected table in my app that pulls customer records including address data from an internal system. My app needs to map sales rep territories which are defined by state to the customers. The Customers table is related to the States table which is related to the Territories table which is related to the Sales Rep table. I cannot figure out how to set the Related State field on the Customer's table when those records are added or updated as part of the bulk update process.Connected data includes a text field with State name. Those names match the name in the states table but I can't figure out how to map them via automation.Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated.------------------------------Rick Putnam------------------------------

Hi folksWondering if you can help?My app tracks a set of customers (as in B2B brands) who are our clients (we are a software company) - Each customer has consultancy time bundled into their contract as standard and can use as they wish. Our consultants go in and chalk of timesheets against these customers and their respective buckets of work.- Occasionally our consultants need to do work for Prospects (in order to secure a deal or just for general support). I have a default 'Customer' form for consultants to fill out which populates a Timesheet, but I have now created a timesheet for 'Prospect' which is going to be a lot more basic.I want to add a button to access it to the homepage for that user or even at the top of the main table report if I can, but I can't manage to find the URL to access that form anywhere - what am I doing wrong? :( Thanks!------------------------------Michael Bretton------------------------------

Here's the situation: Table A is the parent to table B The reference lookup field's record picker in table B is based on Report1 from Table A There is also Report2 from Table A that the record picker can be based on Is it possible to have the record picker for the lookup change from Report1 to Report2 based on a checkbox (or some other kind of field) on the form for table B?  I have tried to copy the look up field, rename it, change its record picker to Report2, and then use dynamic form rules to set which field is visible for the user based on a checkbox, but the result is both lookup fields are visible or hidden at the same time.  I cannot figure out how to hide one and not the other.  I, also, cannot figure out another way to create this setup, so users can see options to choose from based on Report1 or Report2, depending on whether or not a checkbox is checked.I hope this explanation was clear enough for someone to offer some suggestions / guidance.  If more d

Hey there, trying to make a formula field in a report that simply flags product names that changed at certain points of the funnel.  The fields referenced in my attempt are fields that capture the product name at certain stages, got that figured out, but now I want a report that shows only those that changed. First stage field (text) I have memorialized is called Product @ PQSecond stage field (text) I have memorialized is called Product @ CFCBasically, want it to say 'If the Product @ PQ DOES NOT EQUAL Product @ CFC, "YES", "NO"My attempt: IF (Contains([Product @ PQ],"SBA"), Contains([Product @ CFC], "Conventional"),"YES","NO"screenshot of my error:  ------------------------------Bobby Hollis------------------------------

I have a fairly simple Kanban board report for tasks grouped by Status.Under the "Show a group for" option, I've selected "only these" and a number of the status items. When I first created the report I had mistakenly selected "not assigned", which I don't want because this is a report of items filtered on those assigned to me. But even when I remove the "unassigned" and save or even after clearing all selections and selecting the columns I want, not including unassigned, unassigned is automatically populated. What might be causing this behavior? Is there some other setting that would make a specific single-select field option required when used to group a Kanban board on?

I am wondering whether the following is possible and, if so, how to go about accomplishing it.I have a new task form that includes a field for "Assigned To"There is also a "Status" field.Tasks are only created by supervisors. When the User selected in the "Assigned To" field opens the created task record, the Status field should be set to "OPENED".  I know you can create a dynamic form rule to fire when a record is opened, but I only what it to fire when the user specified in the Assigned To field opens it. Is this possible? If so, how do I go about accomplishing this?------------------------------Paul Easton------------------------------

I have created a workflow where I use Multiple Choice Text Fields to record e-Signatures. The choices are Approve, Request Rework and Denied. I also have a Logged Notes Field for each Approver. The problem is that if someone in the workflow Requests Rework, the Originator is notified and makes the necessary edits. The problem lies with resetting the workflow. What I want to do is Clear the e-Signature fields completely but leave the Logged Notes but I cannot find a way to automate this.Does anyone have a reliable solution for this OR can teach me about a better workflow method in Quickbase? Thanks.
