American Airlines SMS Conference
Team, Thanks for being a part of the Aviation Qrew and for attending last week. We're off to a great start and excited about what lies ahead for this group. One of my colleagues saw this and thought we would share. This SMS conference is hosted by American Airlines and although is sold out, there is a waitlist and you can contact Callie.choat@aa.com if you would like to be on the waitlist. Quickbase is not a sponsor, this is just a way to make the community better and share best practices. Manny, How do we change the order of fields in a table? I added fields and want to change the order of the fields in the table, but don't want to reenter all the fields again. Is there a way to move a field up? Thanks, Aparna ------------------------------ Aparna Kommineni ------------------------------0likes1CommentQuickbase University Access
Manny, I am trying to access Quickbase University and I am unable to do so. It keeps asking me to sign in and I am confused as I thought we all had access to Quickbase University. Can you please let me know if there is an issue with my license? I have started working on my app. I have three tables. Employees, Department, and Positions. I want fields from department and positions to show up as fields on the employees table. I have the relationships built. Parent (Department) - Child (employee) and Parent (Positions) - Child (Employee). I have setup the table to table relationships and specified which fields I would like to be lookup fields on employee form. My issue is that they will not populate the field on the employee form. I know I must be missing a step but not sure what that is. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Tracy Woodard ------------------------------0likes1CommentMonitor Data View
Manny, From a data security perspective, Is there a way to monitor who has viewed records with date and time info? I noticed all the tables have "Last Modified By" and wanted to know if possible to have "Last Viewed By" as well. Thanks, Aparna ------------------------------ Aparna Kommineni ------------------------------1like1CommentFields
Manny, Question about field types, how do we set up field types to ensure that the data is unique and in a specific format? For example, the social security number should be in the following format: xxx-xx-xxxx - how do we ensure that the information is entered correctly? And, what does "must be unique" mean in the field properties? And, for age, what if we want that to be a calculation based on date of birth? And, what if we want to have conditions in the field types? For example, under gender, I have listed "Prefer to self describe". If they select that option, then I want to show a text box so they can enter text. How do I do that? Also, how do we make fields required? Good morning everyone, We are excited for next week's Philly Qrew Meetup! We wanted to reach out to you all and ask if there is anything you would like to discuss during the meeting? These Qrew meet ups are for us, by us, and the perfect place to show off your app building chops, get feedback on a particularly tricky use case, or ask any of those lingering questions. If you have anything you would like to share or go over during next week's meeting, please let us know in the chat! That being said, regardless, Manny will be giving us a sneak peak at some new features coming to Quickbase and how builders in Philly can leverage these new tools! Can't wait to see everyone next week! ------------------------------ Mihir Mulloth Policy and Project Manager City of Philadelphia Philadelphia PA ------------------------------0likes2CommentsMobile Workflow Network Update: Recap and What's Next
Hi Mobile Workflow Customer Network Members! Today I wanted to share a quick recap of our first Mobile Workflow Customer Network meeting and give you a heads up on the agenda for the next Mobile network meeting. Recap of our first Mobile Workflow meeting: We ran a Menti to learn more about you, your experience with Quickbase Mobile, challenges you are currently experiencing with the U/,UX, and questions you have on improvements you wish to see soon. Polina and I loved the conversations and seeing members connecting with each other in the chat and sharing tips! Polina was able to answer all the questions and shared what is slated to be released in the 2 nd part of 2024. She also shared mobile optimization tips to make the most of your mobile real estate on phones and tablets. Help me find my volunteers! We had 4 volunteers who were interested in sharing their mobile use case to the group but Menti does not tell me who it was! If you raised your hand, please connect with me to bring your use case to the main stage. I am on a mission to find you! Attached to this post is a copy the PowerPoint presentation. I will also include a link to the recording and the password to access it. Fast forward the recording 6 minutes in when we officially start the meeting. Manny, With respect to tables and relationships, I am still a bit confused. Note, I did try to access Quickbase University to access the self-study materials but am not able to do so... I understand the relationship between parent and child tables. However, I keep getting stuck on making sure that all the tables have a common field with unique identifying information to connect to.... Based on yesterday's class, that isn't the case. Do you have any materials that you can share with us to help me better understand how tables and relationships work? Appreciate your help!
