IMPORTANT QUESTION - CHANGE FIELD NAMES

I just want to make sure, before doing this, that I can change a FIELD NAME and that it will update throughout my App.  

1.  The change will not "break" formulas?
2.  The change will have NO adverse effects on anything?
3.  I am aware that if the FIELD NAME is used in a PIPELINE, the pipeline will break - I am not concerned about this.

    Yes, everything you said is correct.

    With respect to Pipelines, 
    I know you didn't ask this but my belief is that if you use a field name where you have dragged a field into one of those boxes Wilhite it appears with  the curly brackets then yes it will break if you change the field name. However if you have used a field name in a filter then it will not break.
