"Can not update built-in fields values."

I am leaving Notion for QB. I created an exact copy of my Notion database (it was pretty simple) in QB and exported the Notion data into CSV. I started the import and in  the preview screen it looked perfect. But every time I hit "import" I get "Can not update built-in fields values."

I can't find any simple solutions to this, just very complex instructions about API, which is a little beyond my skills! Does anyone know of a simple workaround? Thank you!

  • Thank you for replying so quickly. Much appreciated. I only plan to use QB to keep track of the thousands of articles I used for my newsletter business. The "Projects" section is all I use--or plan to use. Above are the 12 fields I use, showing the status of each article, its author, its editor, and the newsletter it is slated for. I am getting a sense that one or more of those is somehow interfering with pre-set QB fields. Is there a workaround? Here. Again, thank you for your assistance.

I figured it out! I realized that for some reason QB has a problem with certain field titles. I imported them as "new" without titles and eventually got everything to load. Once it was up there, it let me delete the fields it would not let me change and rename the new fields to whatever I wanted. Everything is good now.

I also solved another problem. The multi-select import was just importing the items in one block even though they should've been separate. A search showed the import Excel sheet had to have these values separated by semicolons instead of commas. Once that was done, everything imported fine.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond to me.

In Quickbase, the most common situation is there are 5 built-in fields on every table.  These cannot be edited as they are populated automatically.  So these are feels like the date created, and the date modified, the record ID, and the user ID is who created the restaurant last modified the record.

Can you tell us a little more about your app. Are there relationships between the tables? How many tables are there and what are the names of each table and how are they related?
