Is it possible to add date offsets when using predecessors?

Was wondering if there is a way to add an option for date offset when using predecessors. Such as if when you have task A that takes place between Oct 10th and Oct 22nd  and task B that requires the completion of task A first and will take place 13 days after the completion of task A.

I have looked and don't seem to see a way to force Quickbase to allow for date offset either in the positive or negative based on predecessors

I don't believe the predecessor field will accommodate that.  It is strictly a linear flow.

You will want to use the more advanced method of tasks and task dependencies.
Then you will be able to have dates and adjustable due dates.
Also you can have more than one predecessor if needed.
  • That is what I assumed would be the answer, I am now looking into other ways to set the dependencies that will allow for items like date offsets. Much appreciated
  • This would be very helpful. I am having some date overlap. I need my tasks to start the day after the first task is completed.
  • I believe you should be able to add 2 other fields - 'Offset' and 'Successor Start Date' - to adjust the Start Date of the Successor on a per-task basis. Essentially, your Predecessor field would look at the 'Successor Start Date' instead of the 'End Date' field. "Successor Start Date' would be a formula field that added the number of days in 'Offset' to the original 'End Date'.
