While creating new field in table. I saw Predecessor option. Please tell about this

- They ate used to manage due date on tasks where the tasks are sequential and have dependencies.
QuickBase has thematic features of Microsoft Projrct.
Example to build a house:
Dig hole
Lay foundation
Build walls
Build roof
Each task can have a dependency that it can't start until one orote previous tasks have been completed. - How can I use this field as I am in need of what you explained this field can do.
True Example:
I want things do get done in an order and one should not be done until the one before has been completed.
How do I implement this or program this field? Formula?
