Auto copy am existing opportunity based on a specific Status and Date

We are trying to create a process that will automatically generate a copy of an existing opportunity once it is classified as Status=Customer (ie. Closed Opportunity) and Saved.  The idea is that the NEW Opportunity would be the 'Renewal' Opportunity that will have a 'Forecasted Close Date' of 'End Date + 1' from the original Opportunity.  I would also need to copy other relevant fields to the NEW Opportunity such as 'Total Value' along with what the customer originally purchased.

Along with the Status=Customer I would ultimately like to trigger this process  based on a 'Close Date' + 7 from the original Opportunity.  This would give the Sales Rep plenty of time to update the Opportunity before it was ultimately copied.

I know how to manually do this (ie. create a relationship of a table to itself) but would really like to automate it.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

I don't have a complete solution to offer but the only native QuickBase function which can create records on its own is the new QuickBase Synch functionality. Maybe you can set up a scheduled Synch with appropriate filters to get close to what you want.
