Is it possible to input text using speech? I read that there's a microphone icon that I can use to input speech into a text field but can't seem to find it.

I'm looking to input text into a field by speaking into a microphone. Does anyone know how to do this?

I know that from a mobile device, which allows you to speak into a text field; this data will populate into a text field in QuickBase as long as the User's mouse/pointer is in the text field.  I am not sure if there are other methods using a headset from a computer that will allow the same functionality; I'll leave that to the rest of the Community.

I, also, am not an expert, but I believe that it is a function of the operating system of the mobile device or computer.  For example I know I can dictate to my iPhone and my Mac

You can do this easily using the library AnnYang. At Empower2016 I was showing a demo on the conference floor that voice controlled the naviation of Quickbase and the entry of inputs. The interesting thing is that the speech to text algorithm used by Google does a great job filtering out background noise. The occasional failures on the conference floor were due to the network disruptions not the voice to text algorithm. Contact me off world using information in my profile if you want more info.
